Does Purgatory Work in Lore?

I've got an idea for a Fan Fiction or RP I'd like to start but I want to make it lore-friendly.

So looking at this (and basically just summing it up below)

http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/afterlife-of-races/

I'm trying to figure out if it would make any sense for characters of different races to be attempting to gain entrance to their afterlife together.

Altmer aspire to ascend to Godhood, but it seems as though that is based entirely on their actions in life.

Argonians seem to be trying to become part of the Hist, but again, it would appear that's based on the actions in their lives.

Bosmer seem to be sort of leaving it up to fate, believing that they will receive whatever the Earth Bones wish for them, either becoming one with nature or being reincarnated.

Breton apparently are just always reincarnated.

Dunmer can occasionaly be reincarnated but are usually just sort of spirits in the sky looking over or aiding their ancestors, Lion King style.

Imperials, like Breton seem destined to the Dreamsleeve and reincarnation, or for Sovngarde if they qualify.

Khajit seem to go through the Lunar Lattice to become part of Mundus (same as Dreamsleeve?) and either await reincarnation or become stars...I think.

Nords either prove themselves and join in the eternal war/party cycle of Sovngarde or get reincarnated to try again

Orcs either prove themselves and join up in Malacath's Realm, Ash Pit, or are reincarnated to try again

Redguard, guided by Tu'whacca Yokudan God of Souls, either reach the Far Shores or join the Dreamsleeve and await reincarnation

So what I'm trying to figure out is which of these could potentially meet in some sort of Afterlife Waystation in the midst of a journey. Some definitely seem out, unfortunately. Bosmer seem as though they wouldn't try to "better" their chances of Rejoining Nature or being Reincarnated, Bretons seem to just always be reincarnated, and Khajit...I'm not sure. I think I'd keep Khajit, at least just based on my own thinking, as possible with the idea that they aspire to remain as stars in the sky looking over the great deserts like Mufasa.

Here are the links I'm looking at trying to make sense of all this stuff.

You could posit that Oblivion itself is something of an inbetween phase they can get caught in - either through service to the Daedra or something happening. Because there are two layers to this - the physical (i.e. Oblivion is physically between Mundus and Aetherius - Mananauts and Sunbirds have attempted to get through Oblivion to reach Aetherious) and the metaphysical (i.e. the Daedra seem to traffic in souls, and therefor someone could have their soul snagged by a greedy Daedra and get stuck in a place they don't want to be on their way to their preferred afterlife).

And because the realms of the Daedra are physical and can be explored by mortals and doors exist, they may be able to get out and get to where they want to be.
