Does it rain in Skyrim?

Post » Mon Aug 22, 2011 5:12 am

I've noticed there's been no raining in the trailers, E3 or QuakeCon demos. It's possible they haven't coded it yet, of course.

I would say, yes. How else do they're crops get water?

They had the storm call shout. I imagine if they already put rain in for that, they'd use it for regular weather also.

I highly doubt they'd have a game without rain. It's probably just coincidence there's been no rain yet, and it probably doesn't rain higher in the mountains.

I would imagine in some areas. Just like Oblivion, it either rains or snows. :)

It rained during the QuakeCon demo... He used a shout that summoned a storm. It's also possible that we haven't seen them in-game long enough for a storm to roll in. Also keep in mind that the demos were scripted.

We've seen rain caused by a dragon shout. It was when Todd was fighting the dragon on top of the tower.

Also, we've seen snow fall on the way into a dungeon in a mountain somewhere.

So yes, I am sure that there is naturally occurring rain in the game.

I go totally rofl whenever I read a thread like this. Just because we haven't seen nightshade doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Same with rain, like come on, seriously?

I believe all of the demos we have seen so far have been heavily scripted and in each one, Todd shows off how the weather dynamically changes from sunshine to snow.

yes we have seen it rain with the one of the dragonshouts however I dont think the leaky ceiling is fixed because they avoided going under cover when it was raining twice

Of course there is rain. Would there be any flora surviving without rain?

They already confirmed snow and rain, also that it builds up over time.

Surely it does. The only reason it doesn't rain in Fallout is because the genre called for it... it's all part of the fruitless, dead, deserted world, where nothing grows, it never rains, and there's no clean water.

No.

(No they haven't said that specifically, but it's a fair assumption. :P)

well, my assumption comes from the information they've told us about the aspect of snowing and how the terrain reacts to when it snows.

Well considering it rains in both Oblivion and Morrowind I would think it's a fair assumption that rain would hit the lowlands as well as snow.
