Folks discuss stealth builds as if they're only good for pickpocketing. It's like, well, I'm just going to snipe baddies from a distance so I'll never need sneak.
Well, I guarantee you're going to have plenty, and I mean plenty, of indoor confrontations, and unless you're prepared to absorb damage, stealth becomes super useful.
My build is stealth/sniper. Outdoors, sure, it's distance and popping heads before they know I'm there. Indoors, though, it's still a matter of popping heads before they know I'm there, and that's done with stealth.
I mean, if you're upping your stealth anyhow, it's not going to be terribly useful outside, when you've got distance and angles to work with. Indoors, when you've got none of that, you're going to find Silent Running very useful.
Yeah I mean, indoor fights there won't be much sneaking going on. That's when the other part of my build will come in, the sneaking I just want for long range//medium range sneak crits. So far this is my build.
1. Intense training - +1 strength
2. Rapid reload
3. Educated
4. Run 'n gun
5. bloody mess
6. hand loader
7. shotgun surgeon
8. cowboy
9. quick draw
10. finesse
11. adamantium skeleton
12. jury rigging
13. better criticals
14. weapon handling
15. undecided - either silent running or something else
traits -
Small frame
built to destroy
str 4 / +1 implant , +1 intense training
perc 5 / +1 implant
Endurance 5
charisma 1
intel 10
agil 8 / +1 implant, +1 small frame
luck 7 / +1 implant
Armor increase implant
And so far for my stats I've worked out (as I hunt down all the skillbooks I need) that I'll have 139 skill points left over with 95 lockpick, 90 speech, 90 science, 100 repair, 100 guns, 90 medicine, 45 melee
I just don't know if its worth getting silent running over something like +1 to luck with intense training or something, or strong back.
What's the difference also if you have 50 sneak with silent running over 100 sneak with silent running? Just better chances of not getting caught i take it?
