Does Skyrim have a better Intoduction / Start than previous

I personally think the story is indeed better from the get-go; Makes you feel like a dragon born up front.

Provide feedback por favor.

I wish there was an option to change race/face, and the NPC that escapes with you at the end of Helgen Keep

Aside from the "new character" start time, much better.

Oblivion's "End of the Sewer" feature was great: I could check out a number of faces from a variety of angles and lighting situations before deciding what looks best.

Interesting question.
I personally prefer the opening of Oblivion and Fallout 3 better where you start underground,
and emerge into the light to face the world for the first time. Quite a magical feeling.

Not to say Skyrim's intro was bad, but it sorta loses the "First time viewing the world" feeling.
Love the first time when i see Alduin tho, that was epic.

I liked having to struggle for a while to see the outside scenery like in oblivion (took me ages to get out cos i svcked at it but the payoff was great)

Yup, it took me a while to actually start liking Oblivion due to my lack of skill. :tes:

I preferred Morrowind's beginning, however I would like some choices in how to start my character at the beginning. I always have more than one character, and like to be able to start each one differently.

I just found out the game auto-saves before the whole "Escape Helgen" adventure starts, which is an effective replacement to Oblivion's Extreme Makeover at the end of the sewers so I don't really care about it. I do like the fact that you're bound and pretty much forced to 'learn your way' pretty quickly. Long and boring tutorials make games svck for me.

The view of the dragon once outside is cool too.

The introduction is still cliche in how it begins, (the whole prisoner who just so happens to be the savior of the land spiel), but they made the presentation much better in my opinion.

While I do like Skyrim's introduction, I much prefer Morrowind's. In Morrowind it was short and sweet, see a dream sequence (That was skipable! *gasp*) name your guy, tell the guard where you're from, make your class with Socius and then bam exit the building(after stealing everything not nailed down of course :P) to Seyda Neen and do whatever you want. It was much quicker when making new characters as opposed to the unskipable movie we are forced to watch each time we create a character in Skyrim. I also really liked Oblivion's start simply because Jean-Luc Picard's awesome voice was used for the Emperor :D

Not quite... I wish they added something like Oblivion's "Extreme Makeover" to the end of Helgen Keep - the point at which you come off the rails.

IMO Skyrm's intro is a little bombastic. Not really a fan of carefully scripted epic runarounds.

Agreed. Definitely like Skyrim's intro, but Morrowind's was pretty close to perfect. :)

You get into the meat of the game faster and that's a good thing. But it's not as epic as when the world opens up to you in F3 or Oblivion. And for me at least, it didn't help that it was a blinding snowstorm following Helgen. I walked right past the stones on the way to riverwood. I discovered them after about 50 hours played.

And since Imperials were about to lop off my head for apparently no reason at all, it clouded my feelings about the civil war. After that, it was a foregone conclusion that I would soon join the rebellion.

Skyrim's introduction was pretty perfect, I'll give it that. True, my experience went kinda downhill from there, but still, I probably like it much more than Morrowind's.

Better than Oblivion's for sure but it's still cliche. Tamriel seems to heavily rely on its criminal element to save the world and that in itself leaves some questions as to what the hell everyone else is needed for.

I never liked Morrowinds introduction. The start and character creation was OK, but then hurr durr deliver this package hurr
Oblivion was alright, I felt that the dungeon was too long though.
Skyrim truly showed the beauty of the game with the intro. Whole thing was perfect.

It's a bit long and there's no second time to change stuff, but it's a great intro, certainly.

"Ful, lusei Dovahkiin? Zu'u koraav nid nol dov do hi" was awesome.

IMO, should of started with you in a cave with bars locking you in, and then a guard saying "Clean yourself up! General Tullius is here!" then you looking into a mirror/shard of glass, and choosing your race and face. Then you emerge from the cave with an awesome F3/Oblivion feeling, then you are about to get executed and yadadadada.

This ^

I loved the fly-by of the city into in OB. MW was just some dialog and blurry pictures.

Skyrims was an 'ok' start. It seemed rather slow until the dragon attack though.

Also in MW you were given a starting quest of seeking a Blade agent in Balmora (which you had to do for the MQ). In OB you were given a quest to find the heir (which you had to do for the MQ). In Skyrim, other than being asked to join one side or the other of the civil war (if you follow your partner into town) there really isn't anything about the MQ given out. In fact if you didn't go on to Riverwood or ever visited Whiterun, you wouldn't know what the MQ even is (or ever see another dragon).
