Does a soft 100 survival boosts potions ?

Hi all,

Does a soft 100 survival boosts potions ?

Exemple:

If I have 80 survival, take a magazine, get 100, will Absinthe give +2 perception or +3 perception ?

Is there any other way than a magazine to get + survival ?

I thought Absinthe was a drug and drugs are governed by Medicine or Science IIRC.

caesar's armor gives u +5 survival(only problem is hes wearing it lol). also u can take buffout which gives u +3 end, so raising survival by 6. wear a brahmin skin outfit for another +1 end, for +8 total survival. also, the higher your survival the more health u get from food and such, and the bigger DT boost whiskey gives u while cass is a companion. i believe healing powders are also more effective.

Hard skill points are only taken in account in level-up and perk selection I think. So it should.

Any food item ( not sure what absinthe is, but Atomic cocktails are survival based  ).
Is effected by a current level of survival, so soft skill points are taken into account for the effects imbibed.
You can't boost skills up in a tempory fashion for perk selection however.

The other ways to boost survival are to take chems or other food items, or wear outfits that boost endurance..
However these only boost the skill by two points per stat point raised, and again are tempory soft boosts.

I.e A wearing a wasteland outfit and taking buffout will raise your survival by 6 points as long as your base endurance is 7 or under.
Endurance over this will lose 2 survival points for every point over 7 E.

What? Really? I've never made a Survival chr. so I would neither know or care, but that seems odd to do things that way.

He's talking about the survival bonus you get from endurance. if you have endurance higher than 7 you can't utilize some of the bonus since stats can't be raised above 10.
