hi all, it is a shame that alexscorpion's ak mod was banned why, dont ask me. my askin is if someoen kan mail me one.

It was banned because he didn't make it. It was a collection of models and textures that he STOLE without permission, and took all the credit for. DO NOT praise him for it. I'm sure it's floating around somewhere though..

and asking on an open forum for people to mail you a file isn't safe. Just think carefully about what you open.

it is not against the rules, it is looked down upon, but in no way wrong, if someone has the file and wishes to share it with someone without publicly releasing it they are free to do so

They can share it, but just don't look at the gun in game and think "my god alex was a genius" because he didn't make it :[. He did make the snipers gear though, so that's all good and great. AGAIN THOUGH. watch out for the files you get sent if any, they might not be a new awesome looking gun.

Actually you are all wrong. Sending the files is technicly illegal because those models and textures were made for the game they came from ONLY. And I bet you in their EULA, they have something on this about it being illegal to use the files anywhere but that game. Now, the chances of having the secret service or whatever come busting in your door just because your sharing one thing, is rather slim, but its illegal none-the-less.

the models and textures didn't come from a game. They came from a few people on a forum that add new weapons to a game I forget. It's a complete third party. Or did I read what you said wrong?

I have the tactical AK, but I don't think I should share it.
Besides, it's against the moral standards I hold myself to.

I mean, yeah, I won't delete it, but I'm not going to pass it around since it is not my work to share. That, and it might be illegal.

WHy would he steal other people's work when he's obviously able to create his own high quality work...that's beyond me

well if I have a file that's taken down I always share it, hopefully someone will come along and put themselves in the other person's shoes

Even if that file consists of other peoples hard work that was taken by some random guy who said he had worked on it? Kikai was talking about karma. Yours is right in line with 7/8ths of my characters :chaos:

Well if something was done particularly well and everyone knows it's not his model, I don't see anything wrong with sharing it, in fact sharing it would be a nicer thing to do, if you were keeping it to yourself and saying it's because you have morals, that's actually being selfish

I don't think he said anything about it, but there was no credits, so that pretty much screams I MADE IT. The guys who actually DID make it got REALLY mad though.

yeah there was some one who uploaded it recently and I grabbed it lol, that's how I got mine

That's a little hypocritical, mate..

Either way, even it it wasn't his, if someone has it, they should still share it. The person who uploaded it, well, its his fault for saying/not saying he made it, or whatever happened with that, but we know who made it, we can thank that man, instead, and still use it, can't we?
