Does the plauge of Anime mods bother you?

Post » Fri Mar 15, 2013 8:17 am

I blame Anime for people thinking that Katanas are the ultimate swords, that they harvest a mystical "Ki" power and are able to part the clouds and slice through entire mountain ranges with a single slash. Yes...there are people who think Katanas are that good. While they were actually good at slicing through unarmored peasants, they svcked horribly against metal armor.

Ok I get you, let me revise. I dont think there should be less anime style mods and more lore friendly just wish there was a bigger group of modders that made more lorefriendly mods.
Okay then. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to more lorefriendly mods either.

While i agree that they are stupid, there is nothing that you can do about it other than block them.

Sorry, everybody has a right to what they enjoy

It's not that I care how they mod, it's just i wish people didn't make so many mods like this.

Explain to me how you can simultaneously not care that they do something and wish that they don't. When I wish for something, it's because I care. If I didn't care, I wouldn't wish for it.

The only thing it botters me about modding is those mods with girl with [censored]y faces of anime and [censored]y dresses and armours.
But... well, each has their own way. No anime fan is bothering me for having installed my mods.

Ethnocentrism and uninformed generalities at their finest here, I see.
Anime is not an ethnic group. Come down from your soap box before you fall and hurt yourself.

OP, it's really none of your business how people mod their games. That said, I would gladly install a mod that makes Daedric gear less anime.

I don't personally use them and the few mods I've experimented with are lore friendly. I have no problem with the anime stuff, but I'd prefer to keep the two separated. If I want anime related stuff, I usually play the sims or watch case closed. In MY land of Skyrim, I don't personally want modern day stuff involved, but I'm sure there are people who have remade the entire skyrim into an anime realm so it would fit. To each his own.

EDIT: as a female, I do get a bit upset about finding good armors that actually clothe my characters. I don't need skimpy outfits for my ladies. I haven't really found any good ones, so I stick to the vanilla ones.

I hope in one of the DLCs there's a side story involving a new Grey Fox who acts more along the lines of Phantom Thief from Case Closed with three different options to progress through the quest: Trying to catch him, trying to beat him at his own game as a thief, or becoming his apprentice and eventual successor.

To actually answer the OP's question, it doesn't bother me.

For the love of Talos, I can't stand it anymore. If you honestly think all anime is an abundance of sixy females all gunning for some average sod, you must also think all SiFi movies need a blinding amount of bloom or they don't count.

YES! I'm all for this. And, even bring in his voice actor for an Easter egg or something.

Doesn't bother me, but... I don't get it. It does not fit in the game! I'm a little OCD so mods I download need to either enhance vanilla Skyrim or blend in completely. I use a body to make females look more feminine (with undies, I don't need nudity in my games. There are other avenues for that), and prefer only Lore friendly hairs and armors. I think the only armor mod I have is Immersive Armors.
I do dislike that you have to browse through a foray of scantily clad armors and hideous things to find good ones. And those ones are usually so low on the lists I just give up.
In the end, if people want their Dovahkiin's to be dressed up as a skanky Sailor Moon. Whatever. I'll just never understand it.

It can be annoying when you search for some specific mod, and all you get is some *~animu waifu kawaii~* junk.
I think they may be the reason why most of my mods are recommendations from another forum.

I don't think that they think that. But apparently, there are mods that focus on that aspect of anime.

Not really. I find them silly and out of place, but I don't give two [censored]s what people mod in their game.
Yup my opinion as well.

If people want them then good for them, but I think they are stupid as hell. Of course any mod that adds something from other games, movies, or any other form of media is stupid as hell.

I'll say it again, I dont care that they made the mods I just wish there wasnt so many of them! there needs to be more lorefriendly hair, clothing, armor mods.

People who make Anime mods wouldn't make anything of that anyway but would instead make... nothing. If they cared about such stuff, they'd make it. And their existence does, in no way, affect chances of someone making a lore-friendly mod.

I don't even bother to look at such mods for more than a second and would also like more lore-friendly stuff, but there is nothing one can do besides do it yourself. If anything, someone should try to start a bigger project, like Tamriel Rebuilt for MW.

I blame Anime for people thinking that Katanas are the ultimate swords, that they harvest a mystical "Ki" power and are able to part the clouds and slice through entire mountain ranges with a single slash. Yes...there are people who think Katanas are that good. While they were actually good at slicing through unarmored peasants, they svcked horribly against metal armor.

...that annoyance one feels when someone thinks that Shounen's represent the entire Anime industry -_-;

If people want them then good for them, but I think they are stupid as hell. Of course any mod that adds something from other games, movies, or any other form of media is stupid as hell.

While I wouldn't call it "Stupid as hell", I share the opinion of disliking the mods that add stuff from other media or franchises rather than original (fitting) stuff or older TES games.

Why don't you take some of your own advise? Don't like his opinions? Nobody is forcing you to read them.

I don't care for that art style at all. I just ignore games that are constructed around that.

Having said that...
THIS IS A NON-LORE FRIENDLY AND SKIMPY ARMOR MOD. IF THAT DOES NOT SOUND APPEALING TO YOU, THEN PLEASE LEAVE AND JUST SIMPLY IGNORE THIS MOD'S EXISTENCE.

None the less. Mod authors are NOT paid developers. I could care less what some produce. I focus on the ones that I like. My advice is to do the same.

i'm with him/her.

tho i do wish there were more armor mods that arnt missing the important parts.. ya know.. like actual armor! the skimpiest i use is the Barbiarian from the lore-friendly/Immersive armor packs, whicj i could see an actual barbarian using(maybe a different type of bra/top tho)
