Does the split in the Fallout fanbase bother you?

Oh no, I have played Fallout 3 and it is my... fou-- FIFTH favorit-- SIXTH favorite game, and that is taking on all other Fallouts (besides the Burned Game) and Garrys Mod. I love it for what it is, an action-adventure game.

I love how you all call Brotherhood the Burned Game

I realise it's not a common view. :sadvaultboy:

I was trying to agree with you, I am a hardcoe gamer, and it earned number 6, which is out of maybe 50-60 games i have played, routing GoW, CoD, even Half Life (Number 8), Donkey Kong, Super Mario Brothers, the original Super Smash Brothers (#7), Rampage, TES, Team Fortress 2, Team Fortress Classic, Mass Effect, Resident Evil, Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead, CS:S, MAG, Battlefield, 007, and even Asteroids [#10(I could play Asteroids for hours)].

Except that in Oblivion there were no skill requirements for picking locks :P But yes, that is exactly what i mean. Fallout 3 uses Oblivion's design paradigm, it is clearly visible from all aspects of the game.

I know I was just using that as an example of the "25" point bench mark system oblivion used. My current NV character only has 35 Lockpicks so I see that message alot and every time I do I'm reminded of oblivion's stupid system. :P

It's only annoying when people who only played Fallout 3 consider New Vegas "not a Fallout game", or consider themselves experts.

I may be the only person in the world who has played the originals and considers Fallout 3 my favourite game.

you can make that two people! FO3 is also my favorite.

Make that three. :intergalactic:

I played through all the originals, aside (sadly) from tactics (and of course the "other game", but that goes without saying) and still find Fallout 3 to be my favorite game out of the series. I can't really explain it, it just clicked with me better than any other.

This is a joke.

Memorandum, Paladin John died whilst on patrol, his squad came upon an Albino Rad-scorpion which defied the laws of nature and logic and wiped out him and everyone in the Citidel, except for the essential ones that are somehow indestructible.

Hey, at least you guys gave the old games a chance. Most Fallout 3 fans I've met give me a lame"well it's not a Bethesda RPG" or "I don't like old games" or my favorite "the graphics svck".

Cute Mako, Remind me to leave Deathclaw pheromones all the way to Fort Bannister. :whistling:

Well Shdow, it was what i was trying to say all along, but somehow, i was getting all wrapped up in that VS. garbage, I'll never bash the old games, heck driving around in vehicles, where is that in the new games? You don't get that kind of fun anymore. And i miss fighting on the Oil Rig, that was fun. I could go on for hours with all the FO and FO2 references i miss.

Well, time for this Paladin to do some reports, go over some data on the computer, if the Robco system is not acting up again.....better get more Sugar Bombs.

Could you do that for me? Our guard snipers just got these fancy .50MG Anti-Materiel Rifles and they could use the practice.

BTW, thanks for calling my cute ;) no homo

exploration and fighting enemies, those are the two things that are predominant in a bethesda game...now people who like the old fallout games say stuff like.. "its not all about combat and exploration" or "its more about the story and a believable world"...those people are not gonna like bethesda games too much, every bethesda game i played so far has plenty to do, lots of enemies to fight, lots of dungeons to cruise around in, and lots of random things happening on the map and giants about 20 feet tall, that formula works, no matter how many old fallout fans complain, it ain't gonna matter, bethesda makes pretty damn good games, and they're fun to play, so bethesda doesn't have to do anything different, all they have to do is stick to their winning formula. there's always gonna be people who say stuff like, "oh there's no such things as 20 foot tall super behemoths", or there's no such thing as faires, ogres and vampires, those kinda people prob should stop playing bethesda games.

There will also be annoying People that say things like "Fallout 3 is the only true Fallout and that the originals are the flawed ones," the ones that got Fallout wrong :banghead:

Try wrapping your mind around that logic. It has happened, people have said things just like that or very close to it.

New Vegas also sold very well. So the "winning forumla" can be changed with no harm done. What you want is for every game, Bethesda will ever make to be a clone of the last, but with new graphics. Funny how people with your attuide often say people like myself are stuck in the past. Yet all you seem to want in the samething over and over again just with new graphics. Also wanting BoS and Enclave over and over, yet most Original fans want new factions.

My problem with Fallout 3 is not that it was made by Bethesda. My problem is that Bethesda did not put much work into the writing. It is very poor. If they made the game less black and white, let us join more factions, not force us to goin the BoS; put some work into explaining things, a reputation system, damage thresold, the game would be awesome.

I enjoyed fallout 3, I played the hell out of it. I don't hate it, I just don't think it makes a good Fallout game. If people want a game with "such thing as faires, ogres and vampires" those kinda people prob should stop playing Fallout. Works both ways

don't expect bethesda games to be made any different than they already are, regardless of they franchise they work on, their games feature, plenty of combat, tons of stuff do you, lots of dungeons to cruise around in, thats what they do, this isn't about fallout 3 being like the first fallout games, this is about bethesda games, and how they make their games, people like me buy all their games, i'm not a bethesda basher. i'll buy any game they make themselves and enjoy it for years, because they make games in a style i like, and that style is gonna carry through on any franchise they work on.
