Does the trailer confirm no more floating head?

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 12:03 pm

Or was the running through the forest not an in-game moment?

Everything in the trailer (except the wall) was in-game footage. Does that mean that is how your character will sprint? I'm not so sure. It looks like it was scripted to evoke that emotion for the trailer. Who knows though.

Yeah, that's what I meant, if it was specifically created for the trailer. I am praying it wasn't. Just say no to floating head.

There is a short segment where the player is running towards the snow troll and there were no head bopping. Either the forest part is an effect of the sprint function, the option is toggle-able or it doesn't exist in game.

They said everything in that was realtime ingame footage (except the first person view of the dragon flying, that was scripted) so I think that's how you sprint.

Hm? What's wrong with it? Reminds me of Mirrors Edge which I quite liked.

I hear that people on twitter confirmed that the dragon fight and the rest of it was all in-game stuff. People are thinking that part where you are sprinted was modded but who knows until we see more of it

What do you mean by floating head? No legs or body when you look down in first person mode? If that is the case, then I say yes, since when he was at the edge of the cliff
and he seemed to fall, he looked down and it was nice to see the arm swing like he was catching his balance, but sadly, no body or legs and feet.

If not, then what is floating head?

I hope they'll add it so we can see our arms when running as well.
Looked cool near the cliff though. It added a whole lot more to the 1st person experience.

I still wish we'd be able to see our whole body. I mean, arms, legs, etc... when looking around or jumping/running/falling, etc.
That would add... well, so much more to the experience.

He means where you are running in Obilivion/Morrowind and your head doesn't move as you run. The trailer showed Dovahkiin's heading bobbing as he was sprinting through the forest. Was it actual sprinting like it will be in-game? Hopefully.

Using no-clip and flying through the world, then shaking it up to resemble a flight motion, takes place ingame. Doesn't mean you'll get to experience dragon flight in a first-person view, and the same goes for shaking up the normal cam; might have just been cinematic dramatisation.

That said, I dearly hope that this kind of camera sway and character panting really does occur when you sprint.

No no, you misunderstand. Mirror's Edge style is EXACTLY what I'm hoping for, and that's what the forest running reminded me of. I'm just hoping it wasn't something made for only for the purpose of the trailer.

Yeah sorry about that. I agree, I hope it is in the game.

I'd rather have a steady view when I'm actually running around and when I'm sprinting I would like the rocking look. The shaking screen could quickly get old annoying or disorient some people. The problem with the rocking screen all the time is that in other games that had used the same feature, there were people that couldn't keep playing it because of motion sickness.

I hope there's not too much bobbing, it would make me very motion sick. :(

I believe there's 'running' and you hit a button of some sort to sprint, which causes the head bob. naturally you may not sprint up to a troll but you might sprint away from a dragon, lol.

Yeah it seemed to have the look of arma 2 sprinting when running through the woods.. which is good! but they won't have the ability to independently move your head from the body I'm guessing....

My guess is that it only bobs when you are sprinting, and not while running/walking. The parts where you're walking in first person with the staff doesn't seem to have any bobbing at all.

It looked more like a mixture between scripted and non-scripted gameplay to me. The dragon fight was obviously scripted, everything lined up a little "too perfectly" for today's technology, it was more like movie emotion and action. I would be thrilled to be proven wrong, but i just can't help but feel the entire dragon fight was staged to the last breath. The rest of the gameplay looked unscripted and, and as for the sprinting effects i really hope thats in. I would imagine that the head-shaking (if in the game) would only apply to the sprinting mode, and i would imagine would be allowed to be turned off at will.

Poor choice of words. He should have said motionless head while running.

I hear you! Sometimes even just playing period makes me feel sick. There have been times where turning to the side too quickly throws me off.

That said, I'll play no matter what. But I might need Drammamine.
