Does this really happen?Piper at Nick's place

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2016 3:02 am

Found this on one of the wiki page of fo4

-If in a relationship with her, then dismiss her to flirt with another character and romance them, Piper may be found at Nick Valentine's office asking him to keep an eye on the Sole Survivor, which he seems to refuse.

I don't find this possible since both of them will permanently leave Diamond City after you bring them out.Has anyone encounter this.

Actually, both are scripted to return to Diamond City at certain points of the main quest, so this is feasible. Obviously, more likely to happen if you don't actually take Nick on as a companion at all.

my advice is drop a Salisbury steak into Piper's inventry and after a few days go to Nick's office in DC, if you find the Salisbury steak there you will know.

If you've finished the main quest, I'm not sure. I think it's just one of those things that need a specific set up to happen. ie: Not recruiting Nick so he remains at his office etc.

Ignore him, he seems to be spamming threads with 'advice' involving Salsbury Steak.

Not necessarily. When you dismiss Nick or Piper instead of chosing one of your settlements, just "leave" the dialogue box. (B on Xbox One). They will go back to Diamond City by default. However, if at any time you have assigned them to any settlement, this will not be possible anymore.

They are automatically assigned the sanctuary, where i last dismissed them,so I have no idea how to get them back to diamond city.

This happens at a point in the main quest if i am not mistaken. And Piper says it regardless of gender, romance etc. I think Valentine just states that the Sole Survivor is capable enough to look after themselves.

I read this a while back. I'm on my second play through and I haven't gotten to Diamond City yet. I've been planning on trying to see this actually happen. There are a lot of obscure little easy to miss things like this in the game though, so I don't doubt it. The Wiki also mentions coming back to Diamond City with Piper at some point and Nat running up to her and telling her about how she got a detention or something like that. This never happened during my first play through, and I spent a lot of time in Diamond City.

Thanks. If I happen to see it, I'll at least get some screenshots. I'm starting to look into getting some video capture software too, so maybe I'll even get some video of it.

Won't be possible now, sorry. Once they are assigned to a settlement they can't go back to their "original" home. We should have the option to do so or Bethesda should at least tell us that when yoou "leave" the dialogue box they go back to their original home. I found out on the internet.

I had Nat run to Piper and say that some guy (don't remember the name, I assume one of the kids running around or perhaps the water seller) tried to kiss her or something to that effect. It was pretty funny. Only one I got.

EDIT: Now that I think about it I think it's the same encounter. She gets detention for retaliating or slapping him. Don't remember....

Spoiler. No matter how small the spoiler is, shouldn't this go into the spoiler section? I had to stop reading because it is containing spoilers. Being in general I thought "Nah, no spoilers would be in here." Looks like I am wrong again. :(

Please put spoilers in the spoiler section so those of us who still don't want spoilers don't have to stop coming to the forums.
