Does my username say '14 year old to you?'

Post » Tue Oct 05, 2010 12:12 pm

I've seen popular mods made by people with absurd usernames, don't worry about it.

No, it actually makes me think of a game/movie plot where the hero's primary weapons are guns.

Never crossed my mind, no names really do that for me. Now post content on the other hand......that is more telling.

Hell, by my name, one might infer I am a girl, when I am a 40 year old man. :P I've tried to change it to just Wolf on Steam but my friends complained they preferred Wolfpup. Which I understand as I hate when people change their names and I don't know who they were originally. (Though Wolfpup to Wolf is not that large of a stretch.)

I wouldn't say so. Unless the member acts childish, I have no problem with usernames.

I'd probably be less inclined to download your mod if your username was "BillSmith" or something because it shows a lack of imagination.

HEY!

I laughed pretty hard because I didn't know there was a real BillSmith, unfortunately I found out you joined AFTER you saw his post.

You should make that BillSmith post your sig

Your username doesn't infer to me how hold you are or could possibly be. How you post and what you post says loads more about how old/mature you are then a username ever could.

I would probably assume that you're no older than 25, play Call of Duty, or watch UFC, but not both. But I don't expect you to adhere to that. I exercise my imagination by making up little personas and stories based on a single element. So yeah, I don't expect it.

As soon as you read the descriptions of your mods its obvious your mom doesn't still dictate your bedtime. ;)

If you have a good mod that I think I would be interested in, then I will download it. I couldn't care less what your name or username is.
Even if you were 12, though that can't really be ascertained from your username, it wouldn't mean you were incapable of making a good mod.

Your username isn't too bad. I'd never not try a mod because of someone's username, but admittedly I would be a bit more hesitant to try a mod by BxXTEHubARL33TxX3 than I would a mod by someone with a more normal username. If I didn't already know you, and were seeing your username for the first time, it really wouldn't matter to me as long as your mod description was professional.

Just be glad you don't have these pesky xX's like I do- wait, what's this? They're gone? And... so is my posting history and original join date? No! ...But... yes? Maybe this is a good thing? Hmm... I think I will try it out...

Yours isn't as bad mine ...

What the hell was I thinking?

I would make a new account but I don't want to lose the three shiny stars and this sweet join date.

Well, I AM a 13 year old, but I don't act like "a little kid" (or at least, nobody says anything :P) Don't make fun of little kids though, otherwise you'll seem like one trying to be cool or something.
And my mods aren't bad because i'm 13! :P

GET OFF THE FORUMS YOU CHILD. Actually no, not really. I base someone's maturity on their comments.

If others are going to judge your work from your user name then it is their problem, they should be judging the quality of your work. Whilst you could register with another user name you will of course loose your post count - then are you going to be concerned about people judging you because you are seemingly new?

I did this. Created a new account as I was once Outlander1621. All I really lost was my join date (Feb 09) because I was more of a lurker than a poster back then.

But yeah, If I see a recent number, like yours being 95 I just assume that person was born in 1995 unless they say otherwise like you did in this thread. I wouldn't judge you by that though. It's your work and the mod itself that matters. Not your username.

I voted sort of, it does so like a young kid picked it. No this would not prevent me from downloading any mods you have made. It's your work and other people's comments that will make me or not make me download your work. In fact I never looked at who made it because I wouldn't know the person anyway who made it.

So you will be 17 soon eh? You are still young. Don't kid yourself that you are not a little kid anymore. You still are, no disrespect ment. I have seen and delt with so many young people and they say "I am not a kid anymore". Just because you say it, doesn't mean it's true. Same thing for me, when I was 17. I would say I am not a kid anymore, but now I realize, yes I still was. Actually I still am. So there you go, you will always be a kid. :)

Nope I think mine is worse. I judge mods by quality not buy the name of the creator.

Eh I can't bring myself to do it. I'm not willing to lose the join date, stars and profile view count. -_-

When I first saw your username, I think you were born in 1995. But even it's true, it wouldn't affect my choice to download the mod.
