I think we will see the Quakecon gameplay. Also people been saying they are suppose to release for each special skill leading up to release.
My opinion agrees with most of what others have already stated: No because you still need to find things to craft with, and I am sure there will still be unique items in the world. Not to mention the return of bobbleheads and possible books to increase stats or perks.
why the hell would you say that? like one couldnt work with the other. sorry but thats bs : /
I wonder if they will add any randomization to the locations of unique parts like this. For example, if a special weapon requires a rare vacuum tube, will that rare vacuum tube always be found in the same tv set, in the same abandoned house, in every playthrough?
Look, if I cannot craft a big enough gun to get Momma a Yao Guai steak, she an't gonna be happy....and if Momma an't happy, an't nobody happy.
You'll need the base gun to modify anyway. You don't just start out with a pipe rifle and can turn it into a fat man. And like others have said, it's been quoted that you'll really need to search for some of the components you need for the better upgrades.
Yes and no, not immediately but when you get to end game there may not be much in the world better then your custom Plasma Sniper Rifle. That's one of the many issues I had with Skyrim, if you used Crafting you never needed to search for anything stronger because what you crafted is already stronger.
That's kind of why I'm still hoping there are unique weapons in the worldspace. Would be a shame to not have at least some weapons that you'd wanna get out there and try to find
I still don't see this as an issue because even though my dragon bone sword and bow were better than anything found in game, if it was a unique item i kept it. Even items made of iron that were unique were kept in my armory and on display.
I don't think so. The only time I ever really went out of my way to get an item in a Fallout game was in New Vegas, to get the power armors from the Deathclaw Promontory. All other exploration happened because I wanted to see what else was out there. Finding The Mechanist and the AntAgonizer fighting in the streets of Canterbury Commons or stumbling upon Little Lamplight early on is the kind of thing that makes me want to explore the game world, not the idea of a slightly better weapon. Don't get me wrong; Protectron's Gaze was an invaluable tool that got me through a good chunk of 3, but I sure didn't go exploring just to look for something like it.
Because it's an enormous part of why people even play Fallout. Exploring.
Maybe this game isn't for you then? Really taking time to look at all of the small minute details in the worldspace is what tells the whole story. If you want a handfed visually driven story, there's plenty of other games out there. Fallout still holds these elements of RPG's and I'm sure many of us appreciate that. If you don't, don't play? Or just be as satisfied as you can be with the other parts of the story that are more visual for you? Don't really know what to tell you lol
Well, considering that isn't remotely what people said.....
There's a difference between "Game X has a good story" - which would generally be referring to the main, overarching plot/point of the game; and "I like to explore because of the interesting little stories we can find hiding out there in the ruins" - little things, fun stuff to find, things of interest. Not remotely the "main story" of the game. Exploring isn't just about finding a fight, or loot. It's about a sense of wonder & discovery..... finding an amazing vista to take screenshots of, finding interesting architecture, finding silly little vignettes hidden in the corner of a factory or in a subway bathroom stall. Or finding a poignant narrative scattered among the journals in a vault where everyone slowly went mad due to subliminal audio.
And these are all reasons to keep exploring, even if you've got no more levels to earn or you've crafted the Infinity +1 Gun.
I very rarely ever went to out of the way places ONLY to get a unique weapon. And what makes you think some mods might not require schematics (that you have to explore to get) and / or unique weapons out in the wild will not exist in the game?
@Imnotcrazy. If memory serves there are unique weapons in fallout 4 which you can only get/find via missions/exploring and if I remember correctly the unique weapons can only accept specific mods if any.
You'll have to gather the resources to build the modifications, you'll need to level up to get the perks needed for certain mods, you'll also need to level up to get the ranks needed for the higher level modifications. It's more like modifying weapons gives you an excuse to explore, not "kill exploration".
