Does whiterun ever get repaired?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:15 pm

After the battle of whiterun, does whiterun ever get back to normal? Because I really don't like the look of the broken structures next to the temple of kynareth and the 2 destroyed houses.

In short, I don't like how dilapidated whiterun looks after the attack.

I hope so, Bethesda said they will release small dlc's for free between the major dlc's. This could be under this category.

That svcks. I'll probably not do the civil war campaign at all in this playthrough then.

Have there been any mods made that do this?

Yes, I believe so. Also, regarding the Thieves Guild:
Spoiler
You know that guy who's always preaching in front of the Talos statue? There's a Thieves Guild quest where you have to break into his house. Problem is, the Battle of Whiterun leaves his house inaccessible so you'd better do the Guild mission first. Alternatively, you can teleport into his house using the console.

Yeah, Solitude is the same way after the war. Tower in the marketplace is on it's side and NPC's are always trying to walk through it.

Nords don't believe in repairs, just look at Winterhold.

IDK but in my game Belathor's assistant is trying his best at repairing Belathor's Goods. He's been hammering the side of the store for quite some time :)

Ya know?

I'm kinda surprised there's no bums living in all the house ruins.. though maybe it's because of the everlasting cold.

At least don't do it until you're towards the end of your character. I learned the hard way that doing the Civil War quest early on has disastrous implications in terms of breaking other quests. For instance, if you join the Companions after the Civil War and they give you the Hired Muscle quest, you're screwed. The reason is because the guy you have to intimidate lived in one of the houses that got destroyed and he no longer exists. Therefore you can't play the Companions quest line.

Also, it wreaks havoc on the MQ. I'm pretty sure that's the reason I can't further the MQ anymore. Either that or don't become master of the TG before finishing the MQ. Bugs galore.

I left right after the battle and came back a few days later and it does look to me like it was at least partially repaired. Carlotta's booth at the market was back in one piece, all the fires were out, at least.

lol.....I noticed that too. How many nails can you put in that one board? And still no change.

Have any of you got a budding Gildergreen tree in the center of Whiterun? Like what is supposed to happen after the Nettlebane quest? My tree is still as dead as the first day playing the game.

You'd never know know it was a cold continent with winter like conditions the way everyone walks around sleeveless or shirtless in the game.

Mine is blooming. It depends on whether you let Maurice Jondrelle give you Charlie Brown's Christmas tree to replace Gildergreen or if you beat feet out of Eldergleam with the sap before the Spriggins get you.

No, I brought Maurice all the way their and got the sappling from him and returned it to the temple. But my tree never changed. Still dead as can be and that was one of the 1st quests I did about 500 hours ago.

Next time, forget Maurice. Just get the sap and go.

According to the game guide, if you bring the sappling back, the new tree is supposed to be planted and grow. Or something along that line.

But like so many other things that don't work in the game.............Nightingale Hall and Karliah anyone? Unreal.

ehh if u r on PC, download whiterun repaired(forgot the full name) on nexus. Only install it after u wrecked whiterun. It will bring whiterun back to normal. Another mod fixes the western watchtower and solitude too.

Pfft, it would take half a dozen people a few hours to fix up that area around the tree.
I don't see why the whole city decided that it was impossible to fix up their property.
