does Xbox one need a internet connection?

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 3:23 pm

I really don't care to play online games, all i want is to be able to play games offline. so i am choosing between a xbox 1 or a ps4. i don't have internet connection at my house, and really don't get on enough, so it would be useless to pay for something, that's hardly used. So will the xbox one turn out to be just a brick?

You will need internet connection for the Xbox 1, You need to sign on with your Microsoft account and some updates might be quite large to download. You do not have to be online all the time to play the game as long as the Username is still logged in on the Xbox 1.

Some features might work in offline mode but I do not know which ones since I only use Xbox 1 for games and maybe for Blu-ray movies, but I only have one Blu-ray movie which I have not watched.

PS4 I have no idea since I do not have one.

I thing Xbox One requires you go online for the Initial Set-up, but i am not sure about that. On PS4 you don't to be online at all.
For console updates you can download them somewhere else, put them in a stick and install them on your PS4.
Games working offline, of course without patches.
However, i thing you will need to activate your Blu-ray Disc video capability with a one-time activation through the internet in order to play Blu-ray Disc films and DVD video content.
