Does your character have a personal mission?

Post » Sat Jul 31, 2010 5:39 pm

Yes, there is the 'save the Empire' main quest. But does your character have a mission of his/hers? Such as particular enemies, races, classes (adventure or social), finding cures, achieve wealth / fame/ infamy...?

And how does he intend to achieve that?

My dunmer Lothran has no other goal than to explore, enjoy life and stay out of trouble. However if someone gives him that, he responds :flamethrower:

Become a respected mage. Not arch-mage or anything, we already have one of those, but one of those researcher types everybody hears about, but nobody ever meets. The type that if you ever did meet, you'd have to thank them for a chunk of your spellbook. Much less dangerous this way.

Basically just to be independent and make a life for herself. She started out as a runaway farm girl trying to make it on her own. She obviously failed and ended up in prison due to some minor theft, but now she's out and has been given a 2nd chance, and even a mission to get her going. Since she just acquired a shack to live in, step 1 on the route to an independent life has been taken. Now on to making some coin and getting rid of the amulet she's been dragging around so she can get on with her plans and maybe make a name for herself and develop her skills.

Not necessarily, he just does stuff kind of randomly, but usually he'll do a few related things like do quests related to an area when he passes through, or do a bunch of quests for a guild in a row. Have yet to touch the MQ haha or any Daedric shrines.

It's really cool how you can simply choose paths other than saving the world - not that there is anything wrong with this, but the possibilities are very interesting.

My character's background (as exposed in other threads) leads her to work towards the toppling of the tyrany (as shes sees the empire) and the regional elites that supported it.

Damien just wants to Cause trouble in the world. He keeps on killing guards and random people.
Even a guy in a church just for the hell of it. I Love this game so much for the 360. I just got this game Yesterday

That is what Damien plans on during for a while. Unitl something random happens to him and then maybe he stop. He is a mage by the way

Every character I've made has their own personal quests. It varies though.

This

Angel loves magical research and spell experiments.

It is her own choice that she will never be Arch Mage because she knows what would happen to her friends in Bruma (she can access my knowledge) and she loves them dearly.

She spends most of her time camping in the wilderness and simply living in peace and great joy. When she gets lonely, she will spend time with her adopted family at the Anvil Mages Guild hall; putting on demonstrations of magic while they are gathered together in the evening, and playing 'sneaking' pranks during the day. They are very indulgent and never scold her for playing there.

Buffy is simply trying to survive in a beautiful but dangerous land. She possesses the spirit of a dragon, but is cursed with having only a butterfly butt to back it up with. I am sure her 'personal misson' will change, for her race measures their lives in centuries. Right now she is trying to improve her skill and courage to someday help that brave Savlian Matius take back and rebuild his city. Because of their short lifespans, she did not want to fall for a human, but alas, I fear it is too late. She hopes so much to someday visit the other provences of Tamriel as well.

My current "mission" character is Rawia Ashirbibi. She was the Wise Woman of the Aidanat Camp, which was raided by the Nerevarine to rescue a pilgrim being held for ransom there. She was the sole survivor, having been out harvesting trama root at the time.

Like many Ashlanders, she considers the Nerevarine to be an Imperial "plant" sent to Morrowind to break the power of the Tribunal.

She now finds herself in a unique position to influence events inside the Empire. What will she do?

My character started off as a business man who fell on hard times and was thrown into jail for not paying back his creditors. In my game he started out simple living life on the streets, stealing food to survive before moving to stealing incredibly rare and expensive artifacts to sell to the right people. Now after many months of hard work I have invested in most of the shops in cyrodiil, have my own personal bodyguard service, live in Rosethorn hall and run the largest trinket consortium in the empire

Survival is the main focus of my characters missions. I play Dead is Dead.
But most of them had rather simple goals.
Assassins, Kill without being seen, for cold hard septims, or for revenge, with some septims on the side.
Skooma Dealer, Get a good customer base, while carefully avoiding guard interference.
Good Characters, Do the world favors, be it stopping the Oblivion crisis, or stomping out some skooma dealers.
Evil Characters, Kill, kill, and kill again. Then kill the victim dead.
Drunkard, Drink, then do crazy stuff.
Skooma addict: Do whatever you need to pay for the next fix of Skooma.
Noble, Show off your wealth, hunt in the free time,
And now,
I am playing a Dunmer framed for a theft from the empire, and by chance met the Emperor's escape party, and is now currently on a quest to become powerful to save Nirn. What happens after, who knows.

Kain's is too avenge his wife's death. He is looking for the Roaring Tide. He hasn't found them. Yet.

Kiva's is to find out as much as she can about Kain, and eradicate the world of daedra.

To top it off, Kiva is Kain's wife (to be at least). They are on seperate timelines, so it can get confusing.

I've had a couple of characters who start the game by simply looking for Shadowbanish Wine. So they do a walking tour of Cyrodiil, just looking for ruined forts. One of them was an itinerant Khajit merchant with no combat skill as his primary. His goal was to become wealthy and then later get involved in Cyrodiil's various affairs. Unfortunately, I seemed to have deleted him by accident.

Some characters just have the goal of walking the main roads of Cyrodiil. My newest character's goal is just to restore Battlehorn Castle to its former glory.

Gregreo Oscarus has a mission to find his father's sword and return it to Bravil, where it was buried. As to his killer? That's how Gregreo got into the Dark Brotherhood, so that's taken care of. ;)

My Dark Elf archer- Explore the land, hunt, and sell things.

My High Elf mage- Join the Mage's Guild.

My Argonian Assassin- Serve Sithis.

My Khajit- Live in Lewyin, never exploring. I'm pretending he's a NPC and the real hero's someone else.

My Redguard- Doing the main quest.

. . . does your character have a mission of his/hers?

Why yes.

Spoiler
And if I were to write it here, i would have to track down everybody who read it and stab them in the back with the blade of woe buttered with a liberal amount of poison.

Before I deleted all saves..

Ash'kailia To find her lost clan, not sure how that was going to work out tbh, and set up a resturant in Leyawiin for all the nice non bigoted folk there.
She had a very nice house and loads of ingredients and scrolls stocked, so that one worked out at least.

Osmundas Hlaalu's goal was to liberate the sixuality of all Dunmer maidens, female daedra, corpses and lettuces in Cyrodiil which amazingly he did.
That and to find a cure for the itch that keeps spreading, plus find out why his head hurt so much.

Anna's was to find a way back to her kip in Sigil, but after the treacherous events all through the crisis, she was abandoned with no chance of rescue from those she helped.

Claire's goal is to become Arch Mage and rework the laws on necromancy, She hopes to erase some of the fears, suspicions, and misconceptions about necromancy, while simultaneously making it clear that she does not tolerate it being used unethically or irresponsibly.

Linara's goal is to explore every city in Cyrodiil, become respected at the Arcane University, and work up enough courage to talk to that mohawk-headed scholar at Uni who doesn't treat her like dirt. Plus, you know, save the Empire. And settle down in Bruma.
