I believe that last Pip on your health bar regenerates over time.

Otherwise, you need a medic.

Yes, it does. It regenerates slowly up to the nearest pip.

Health is measured in pips. Your first pip is very big, and any buffs will show as much smaller pips. Here's a very bad example:

[=============] [--] [--]

The first chunk here is your basic health. If your health goes down to this chunk, it will only regenerate up to the end of that chunk. The smaller chunks are bonuses, when you buy an abiltiy that gives you an extra pip, or if a medic buffs you, and a few more buffs. If one of these pips is completely empty, you will not heal it.

The only way to heal an empty pip is with a medic - they'll heal you completely. Think of it like being crippled. After a while, you will heal some parts of a crippled leg, but you need professional medic help to heal completely.

EDIT: @Wraith: Why thank you.

Nicely put and nice diagram.

Wait I had the impression that you base health and some of those small pips, and then bonuses would add some more small pips.

Taking your diagram:
Base health -> [=============] [=] [=] Buffed health -> [=============] [=] [=] [--] [--]

Because if your large pip was base health you would always regenerate to full health (unbuffed). Am I wrong?

Any pip including your main health will regen if not completely destroyed.

Sorry I expressed myself wrong. My doubt is, when you spawn, is your health just one big pip, or one big pip + some small ones?

It depends on your abilities/bodytype.

For bodytypes. It will be one big and more depending on body type and buffs etc.

From what I've heard, Lights have [=======] when unbuffed.
Mediums get a bit more - kind of - [=======][=]
Heavies get another bonus on top [=======][=][=]
Then you can get other abilities that boost that further - Battle Hardened, medic buffs, CP buffs, etc.
So you can end up with more like [=======][=][=][=][=][=][=] for a Heavy

Each little section, OR the main section if you drop that far, will regenerate if it's got health left in it. When it's emptied, though, you need to see your friendly neighbourhood Medic.

Think of it as the Far Cry 2 system. If one section, called a pip in Brink, gets halfway drained, that segment would fill back up eventually. If a segment is completely drained, it won't restore without a medic.

And Obliviondoll, mediums and heavies don't have extra pips than the lights do; they have a larger base health.

Using the example, lights might be
[=======]

Mediums
[==========]

Heavies
[===============]

Then abilities, health buffs, and command post health upgrades would give you the small pips on top of these bases.

Wow, now i see why some people get frustrated.....lol.

The pic that wraith posted is the answer for most all the questions posted AFTER his reply. The smaller segments need refilled by medics OR if they aren't completely depleted they will regenerate on their own.

Not what http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/04/20/brink-body-types-preview/ says...

"I elected to play as Medic class, which meant I added an extra health pip to the bonus one I was already granted for being a fattie."
(bold is to emphasise my point)

Maybe it does or maybe its just the medics buff ability. We shall know soon enough.

Wraith...

You might want to re-read the part I quoted.

He said being a Medic added an extra pip TO THE ONE HE ALREADY GOT FOR BEING A HEAVY.

Not saying that the guy who wrote it is 100% infallible, of course, but the way he's worded that says Heavy body adds an extra pip, rather than extending the base health.

Heavies can mediums have a larger initial bar than lights.
