And he hasnt died

Please help I want a permanent compainion

Do you have another companion right now? If so, then you need to fire them.

This Perk has some issues, if your on the PC, there are better ways to handle Dogmeat. In fact, one of the mods for Dogmeat includes a Whistle that you can call him with.
