I hate them! I hate them with all of me! The only thing that works is either hollow points or light mg and I can't find enough of either! Gargh!

YES!!

Rage on, man! Rage on. I hate 'em too, those [censored] things :flamethrower:

Trick is to shoot the wings out and make sure you got lots of antivenom; I like to hit 'em with slugs from my Hunting Shotgun :toughninja:

I cleared out a town of viper thugs, left. Fast traveled back to it to look for fire geckos and discovered two Cazador nexts sprung up with me right in the middle, promptly got swarmed. I try to avoid these abominations at all cost, wasn't pleased to have fast traveled right into the heart of a hive :P

Odd. I encountered my first cazador last night, and it didn't put up much of a fight. Maybe because it was alone, or maybe because I mostly let Veronica smack the crap out of it with her power fist. That tends to shorten my battles quite a bit.

two regretful words: increased spawns. When you have to deal with a swarm of them, you go through sidekicks very quickly.

I found melee companions are best for fighting them. But once you get 2 or 3 or if you hit a big next 4 or 5 they really shred through your companions. Especially the advlts. Now I either snipe them from a mile away with my holorifle or its a frantic vats race to cripple their wings before they get to you..

Big swarms or fighting them alone... I have easier times with deathclaws..

Be careful letting Veronica melee them to death if you're playing on hardcoe. One of the recent patches introduced a companion bug that causes the full effect of the Cazador poison to be dumped on them at once if you use one of your stimpaks to heal them up. You have to wait until the poison effect wears off before giving them the stimpaks. Also, they will not fully heal after the Cazador battle - you'll have to take them into an another battle to allow them to autoheal after you finish it.

I find cazadors rather easy to fight

Sniping them from afar works pretty well if you're a decent shot. I also find that automatic weapons can dispatch them rather easily (minigun, 10mm SMG, light machine gun).

If you're having trouble finding ammo the gun runners by New Vegas often have plenty of ammo (especially 5mm, and AP 5mm, as well as some 5.56 though not quite as much as 5mm) and two merchants that sell ammo at http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/188_trading_post. Don't forget the guy at the Crimson Caravan also sales weapons and ammo.

With that you should have more than enough ammo to dispatch a whole cave of Cazadors

Am I the only one who sorta likes them? I mean sure they're ugly but so are Mole Rats. Besides, they provide a challenge and they keep you on your toes.

Dislike them. One alone isn't a problem, a bunch at once is a nightmare. They move erratically so it's hard to hit them at long range. And at short range, they seem to ignore armor completely *and* their poison will kill you in about 5 seconds even aside from their physical attacks.

If I were designing the thing, I would make them do less melee damage and have their poison be weaker but much much longer lasting. Basically you die slowly and painfully unless you have antivenom.

They are a pain, but not too bad. One of two reasons why the perk Endomolgist is golden. Hollow Point Rounds + Endomolgist makes short work of them. Lately I have been hitting some Rocket and Psycho and head shotting a whole swarm out of VATS!

Also, for long range VATS action, Steady can make your life a lot easier.

When people say "I hate 'em" does that mean you want them out of the game or as in "I hate them, they kill me a lot" ?

The more bullets downrange, the greater the chance they will die of "lead poisoning".

Full auto + Hollow-points = Dead Cazadore(s)

Possible Candidates:
9mm SMG
Vance's 9mm SMG
10mm SMG
12.7mm SMG
Assault Rifle
LMG
BAR (for those who have (Dead Money)
Minigun
Cz75
RCW
Gatling Laser

Take your pick...

I can't stand them. On my hardcoe run, I can't even remember how many times Cass and Rex closed their eyes for the last time to sounds of beating wings

I just keep at range and spam .44 SWC rounds with a Trail Carbine, or .308 JSP from "this Machine". If you have Veronica around it might be a good idea to give her The Q-35 and a pile of MFCs.

I hate hate hate the Cazadors. Especially for that one quest where you have to get their eggs. I went in from the South (the wrong way) and had to fight through about 45 of them. Ran out of Antivenom but could not Fast Travel while being posioned.

On my third playthrough a swarm of Cazadores bullrushed goodsprings and killed everyone and followed me through buildings. It was scary, i'll tell you what.

Thump Thump/modded grenade rifle/grenade launcher with incendiary rounds makes short work of them. Take out a mob with two to three shots. My character has killed five with one shot though he has pyro, splash, and demo expert X2. Cazadores are why I carry that weapon and incendiary grenades.

I tend to use an Incinerator or Heavy Incinerator, you can usually hit them even with only a 1% chance in vats. Incineration Grenades are nice as well. Or you can try giving a Companion the Thermic Lance.

I usually use Annabelle, the unique Missile Launcher, to take care of these things, although sometimes I use a Gatling Laser instead as it does a real number on them. If I decide to go hunt them I also bring a handful of anti-venom, and wait until the end of the combat to use it (if needed) as one application will get rid of all the poison at once.

I just turn it to non hardcoe for a few minutes. I have antivenom and have given it to them so it's a bug.

Give Ronnie the RCW and a pile of ECP and she will toast the cads just fine. She is brotherhood and kicks ass with energy weapons, ignore her whining when you set her to ranged.;)
