Dogmeat to Far Harbor.. Mandatory?

Post » Thu Mar 17, 2016 8:42 pm

Yeah I could absolutely see us having some kind of hovercar type deal. Hell the Prydwn is essentially just a giant one in a basic sense. Yes the ol NPC train from Broken Steele hahaha NPC with a train car hat and then a helmet went over our head to show things since the engine couldn't handle it actually moving.

You speak to this like you code and could do it yourself, meanwhile everything presented (even by you) shows that it can't be done well. Bethesda wouldn't half ass it and the engine limitations make it so they'd have to. Just use mods and be happy with how poor it looks

it cant be done well? lol, show me one NV mod that does it better than the video I showed you. I will tell you already, there are none, I tried them.

Bethesda already had vehicles in skyrim and oblivion, they have many ways to implement the feature and bypass any clipping issue, collisions, or problems. Just like in Skyrim, I bet you think horses in skyrim svck as well, but they are enough.

Where are you even getting me saying NV mods were good? The vehicel mods in that svcked just like the skyrim one you posted. They all do. Wanna know why?

Because they're in the same engine LOL

Horse =/= wheeled land vehicles. Jesus.

I am saying the mod I showed you is better than any of those mods made by those modders you trust so much. They know jack[censored].

And the best part is that it's so easy and simple to do, the difference is barely noticeable.

All the modder had to do was to reskin the horse and that's it. Gameplaywise it's exactly the same as a horse, if you think it svcks that means you think the vanilla horses svck as well.

I never said it was worse? Being better than NV vehicle mods doesn't automatically make them good. What kind of crap logic is that. IT STILL LOOKS BAD. It actually looks like a hoverbike. Should have just gone that route with it. And yes I think the physics and looks of reskinning a damn horse into a car or cycle look bad. Again, if you're happy with that subpar quality, mod away. Hell maybe the Fallout 4 mod will even be a bit better. But there IS a reason bethesda does not do it themselves. You can't escape that no matter how many crappy mods you post

Being better than the NV vehicle mods proves that you shouldn't consider their opinions as valid, the fact is Bethesda has a million possible ways to add vehicles if they wanted.

Hell even if it was a hover bike, doesn't that count as a vehicle too?

Tanks have already been in official DLC for Fallout, so it IS possible.

Or did you not get Operation Anchorage for FO3?

You're putting words in my mouth. I never stated that NV vehicle mods were the end all be all. In fact, the one you posted looks better. But it still svcks.

And your request was for land vehicles. Sure make a hovercar or bike. That'll work fine since it doesn't have to deal with wheel collision and physics

The one that moves 100 feet on flat land and has to deal with ZERO collision with land in the game? Or right. That one....

Having something move around in an ultra confined and predetermined spare is not the issue here. It's how awful a vehicel would react to being player driven all over the map.

Again, if they design the landmass for it, they can do it perfectly.

There's nothing stopping it.

It moved 100 feet because that's all Bethesda WANTED it to move.

If Bethesda wants a tank, they'll make it work. Then the Modders will make it better (as usual).

Real Money says they didn't design the land mass for vehicles.

And if the Land Mass in FO4 wasn't designed for vehicles; 2:1 says the DLC wasn't either.

They could have moved it 1000 feet over terrain if they wanted to. It was a scripted event. A player driven vehicle is not scripted, and the engine wouldn't be able to handle a vehicle moving in a decent manner.

If you think decision about whether or not to use vehicles is something that was made even with the last two years this discussion is beyond over.

There's no reason to believe Beth is creating a new landmass to use vehicles on. They didn't all the sudden decide they wanted a borderlands/mad max game. Could they have made a flat landmass to use wheeled vehicles? Sure. But they didn't lol they aren't stupid. No one wants them to sacrifice pleasing aesthetics in landscape so that they can play Borderfall

There's no reason to believe the otherwise either. I think they stated themselves they didn't have any sort of DLC's planned from the get go right after FO4 was finally put to sale. That means claiming to know exactly what they plan to release or not release is equally absurd. We are talking about an hypothetical case. If they really want to do it, they definitely can if they design a DLC around that idea.

You REALLY think they finished Fallout 4, started patching it, worked on the Creation kit, worked on the survival update, worked on automatron, worked on wasteland workshop, worked on creating an entirely new landmass with factions, quests, new equipment AND made it have areas with driveable vehicles? You're dilusional to think that it takes such a small amount of time to do that. So yes there is reason to believe otherwise. You're the same kind of poster asking for a patch to make fallout multiplayer like it's just that easy hahahaha

And I still love the fact that you're falling back on the "if they wanted to they could have" argument even though you've been given evidence that shows it isn't just easy and the efforts already made were very poor

So are we speculating that Dogmeat might be mandatory because any other companion sticking his head out the window of the vehicle you were driving would look silly?

No you are the one who has yet to prove that they can't do it.

I said they could if they wanted, even if they don't design Far Harbor for it, there are still more DLC to come, and maybe they will design some of them with the idea of Vehicles in mind, even if they don't release any DLC at all with drivable vehicles of any sort it wouldn't mean that they cannot do it.
