Hey,

after the beginning with dogmeat i left him and took in Preston as my companion, since i wanted to get the united we stand skill. I sent dogmeat to Sanctuary and in the latter hours of my playtime, i met him on several occasions (so he really was there at Sanctuary). Now i got the Skill from preston and im already paired with macCready, so ist obvious some time has passed since i left dogmeat - but now, when i return do Sanctuary, i cant find him. i placed a bell in the Center but he aint coming, also i checked the two (i believe?) doghouses. No sign of him!
Is there a glitch that can erase Dogmeat from my save?

Also, i gotta mention that i checked red Rocket. Hes not there.
As far as i know, i Need him to find kellogg. I didnt do that Quest yet, so i also gotta ask: is he absolutely neccessary for the quest? Or can i simply do it myself without my dog?
If i Need him and if i cant retrieve my lil' fella, i would have to reload a earlier save, which would cost me several hours of playtime.... and probably, if the hole save game is kinda corrupted, it would be even better to just start a new one to prevent him from disappearing again, i assume?

He should appear once you're at the quest to find Kellogg, but if you need to find him, check the dog houses. He should be there if not at the places you've already visited.

I lose dog meat, all the time

Glitched or bug , or just a dog lol

If you lose dog meat , first try fast travel , to a safe location , if he is your Sid kick he will turn up beside you or close around !

If he's not your side kick he will be in the last known safe settlement , yes look in the dog house , but I find him laying down waiting for you

Please note when in settlement mode he will wonder off and not bug u until leave stelment mode . Don't worry he come back to you.

If you give the command to stay , he be waiting for you where you asked him to stay usually sitting , not laying down, but if u fast travel he will be beside you ....

Yes I say bethesda fo4 is glitched as a 3 legged goat , but in this case it might not be a glitch just a dog !

In saying that dog eat floats into the air ! Like the dog hasn't farted and the gases have built up and dog meat foots up into the air ! That's a glitch for shore !

Try this, Sometimes you have to scrap all the Dog houses in Sanctuary, then build him a new one, he then sometimes shows back up, I find it helps only having one dog house in Sanctuary. Speaking of dog houses, if you buy the Junk Yard dog for 250 caps remember they need a dog house too.
