Greetings!

Im loving the game, but yesterday a bug happened in my game: when I dismissed dogmeat to go to Sanctuary, he dissapeared and I haven't been able to find him anywhere (not there or in Rocket station).

I've readen that more people has found this bug too.

I thought I lost Dogmeat in Sanctuary Hills and found him almost hiding. If there is a Dog House in the zone you send him to he will wait in that. If there are multiple Dog Houses he will pick one at random from what I can tell. You might want to comb the area again just to be sure. i think there are two Dog Houses out back of some of the houses in Sanctuary to start with, One in the culdesac and the other close to the bridge.

I would have to agree with the above poster. I thought I had gotten rid of all the extra dog houses in sanctuary, but then when I couldn't find him I found one dog house I had missed and he was lying down in it

One time he was on the roof of one of the houses I built. (oops, bad spawn.) I simply ran out of the cell and ran back and he was back on the ground.

I thought I lost him to, but he is just kinda hard to find if you don't know where to look. There's 3 doghouses at Sanctuary as far as I remember and he'll move around between them at random when you leave/enter the area.

I just scrapped 2 out of 3 doghouses and moved the last one to a spot next to my power armor to make it easier to find him in the future.

Definitely the first place you'll want to check when looking for Dogmeat.

I released Dogmeat back to Sanctuary when I picked up Piper.

I found the three doghouses in Sanctuary and he is in none of them. I waited 24 hours and he is still not there. Fast traveled out and back in and he is still not in any of them.

I checked the Red Rocket, I checked the drive in. I even went back to Pipers place and looked and I still can't find him.

The only thing I can think to do is destroy the three dog houses and build a new one (if you can) and see if that works.

It's kind of a big deal since Dogmeat is required in at least one step of the main quest.

He should show up by himself for the quest where you need him though. (Atleast I didn't have to go pick him up for the quest)

When I got that quest I had another companion with me, and dogmeat just showed up when I walked outside after getting the quest (I ended up having both dogmeat and the other companion with me through that quest)

Thanks. That was it. I was not ready to do the quest the moment I picked it up days ago so I did not realize that they teleported dogmeat to the quest location. I made the wrong assumption that he would still be where I sent him.
