During the BOS mission ,show no mercy, the vertbird got shot down. I assumed dogmeat was left on the airship or would return to red rocket, and completed the mission. Couldn't find dogmeat anywhere.

Eventually decided to check the vertbird crash location (in water next to Fort strong). Found dogmeat stuck in the water. I can get him out of the water with commands and send him to wait in any settlement however when commanded to follow he returns back to the crash site(even if it means walking across all the map) and and stays in the water. Previous game saves not available as I was fast travelling through all settlements looking for him.


Anyone else have this? Advice?
