Don't Go Into Rivetcity

I can't wait for it to come out, but come on guys, we all know Bethesda by now, who's afraid of crippling bugs in Skyrim?

Despite knowing this thread is an attack, trying to fire some people up, i'll bite for a minuet.

What bugs? I never had game crippling bugs in any Bethesda game.

Too early to tell. Obviously every game will have a few bugs here and there but I don't think Skyrim will have any gamebreaking bugs

Every game has bugs the first few days. Did you play Red Dead Redemption on release date? Holy [censored], that was was the worst...
Skyrim will no doubt have a few but as awesome as Bethesda is, they will be patched before you even know most of them existed in the first place.

Bugs are sixy, a game with no bugs is weird and distracts me from total immersion. There you go, first "immersion" reference in your thread.

Not an attack I promise! I love Bethesda games but I'm guessing you never played fallout then? It had numerous bugs which would completely freeze the... oh wait! I'm a platformer... That may be why you don't know what I'm talking about. Yeah were some crucial bugs in Fallout on the 360. Some in Oblivion too but not as game-stopping as in Fallout... Dang Rivet City.

I never experienced any of the fabled "game breaking" glitches during any of the Elder Scrolls games, Fallout 3 as well. Had some cache issues, but after learning to hold A on startup early after release, things corrected themselves.

There will be issues, but I can only hope that Bethesda is competent enough to never again repeat the mistakes of the past games.

I hope so, I really do.

A-bomb in Oblivion :P

I suffered that one. Greatly. It ruined Oblivion for me. :dead: If it's not in Skyrim, the game will be perfect!

Just because you didn't experience them doesn't mean it's not there

In Fallout New Vegas people had corrupted saves after doing a particular quest and couldn't continue on after that. I didn't have that problem

To further exemplify the case:

I suffered that one. Greatly. It ruined Oblivion for me. :dead: If it's not in Skyrim, the game will be perfect!

What is A-Bomb in OB? (I have console version), I've never heard or seen anything that could possibly have anything to do with A-Bombing.. Or bombing.. Or As...

The only thing that was epic (fail) in Rivet City was when all the NPCs randomly turned hostile towards me when I was near the auto turret at the supply place or something. :/

But, bugs are impossible to keep away in a game like this. The OP surely can't name any similar game without bugs?

It wouldn't matter how long they push back the release date. There will be bugs. There isn't a team of developers on the planet that can put in as many hours of 'testing' the final product as the entire Elder Scrolls fanbase. That is why Zenimax should pay us for the first few months after the game is released. We are, after all, doing them a great service. :P

I don't know if my experience was unique but every time I went into rivet city, my console would completely freeze, therefore not allowing me to continue the main story. I even tried losing the 75 hours or so of gaming I had put into my original story and started over. Sure enogh, when I comes time to meet your fater in rivet city, my game freezes again, every time I entered Rivet City.

Yeah, I haven't either. Guess we're lucky. :foodndrink:

Off topic, there is an excessive amount of polls right now.

The poll options are really strange.....Honestly I dont even know what this thread is about but rather just a faint idea. Are you saying you dont like bugs?

I dont think the number of developers or time it takes to develope a game has anything to do with bugs so Im just lost. Of course there will be bugs....am I getting this right?

I just wouldn't plan on making any characters you intend to keep long for the first two weeks or so. I'm guessing there will be atleast one glitch that screws up your saves.

I had it once. On the GOTY edition that I bought used a couple months ago. I didnt even know what people were talking about until it happened. I had played hundreds of hours in the past and I dont remember it ever happening once.

But then again nostalgia sometimes clouds your memory hahaha.
