I don't like fallout4, it got old really fast.

Post » Thu Jan 21, 2016 6:09 am

So I haven't even finished the story line but I have no care to play it through anymore despite the game seeming really good the at first. I was having a lot of fun shooting all the ghouls in the legs leaving them alive to suffer and stuff but after a while the game just got too easy even on the hardest difficulty. And its just the way the game is that it seems boring after a while and I don't feel a reason to play the same quests over and over or put thousands of hours into this game like i did Skyrim. I've never played a Fallout game before besides this one and I really liked it, I might consider getting Fallout New Vegas but this game specifically just ruins this game engine for me. I mean I like skyrim a lot, i've wasted a lot of my life exploring the land over and over playing different ways im not too sure how I didn't go insane but fallout4 could never do that for me. Maybe it's the the fact the only under armor I can use is my jump suit or that I just dont like the shooter aspect of it im not sure. But this game to me has less replay value than much simpler and repetitive Bethesda games.

Really it's just too easy I suppose. I mean exploding bullets, really? There are perks that make explosions even stronger too, and my first game which ive never reset had max charisma and intelligence so I leveled up super fast.

Not to mention some of the dialog is really [censored] up like with Virgal and how you can basically convince him his life is pointless so he lets you kill him since he doesn't want to commit suicide.

Again, I haven't finished the game and I will eventually. But this game really kills the Engine for me. I used to like this game's engine when it was in skyrim, but fallout 4 just idk. I really want to complain about it some more but dont know what else to complain about. I do crash very often as well, that may be another reason why.

Fair enough, even though I enjoy the game a lot I still prefer Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I also really enjoyed both Oblivion and Skyrim. Maybe it's the post apocalyptic theme that doesn't interest you? If so that's completely fair, maybe try some of the previous fallout games as they offer a lot more replay value in my opinion.

I guess it's not your kind of game then, nothing wrong with that. Skyrim is fantasy and a bit darker and more serious, whereas the Fallout universe is a complete joke - an over-the-top ridiculous slapstick Sci-Fi comedy. But personally, I disagree with you. I'm having a blast, although after 315 hours of play I've literally done everything that can be done in the game (except for reaching max level and such).

My tip:

Take a break from Fallout 4, celebrate Xmas - then come back in January and get the GECK when it's released. This game is gonna be much better in a few months, I'm certain of it. The same was true for Skyrim. Just imagine how Skyrim was like before getting those major bug patches, before Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn and, most notably, before all those mods.

it is called personal taste

not everyone play these kind of games in order to defeat the game in the suickest possible time

as a matter of fact i am still playing skyrim and enjoying doscovering and i am sure this fame will keep me playing for many years aswell

This is the most solid piece of advice, to be perfectly honest. I do contend that Skyrim had more to do than Fallout 4, but over time it grew to what we had. If OP is on PC, future DLC + modding content will no doubt saturate the game, much like Skyrim.

There are lots of outfits you can use as under armour, the jump suit is by no means the only one. You shouldn't say that you just want to complain but you don't know what to complain about, what does that mean? Surely you would want to complain if you had something to complain about, not the other way around.

OP...you realize that you don't need to select perks...right?

The game was easy...got easy...because you made it that way.

So many of these posts saying the game is easy but they perk their character out for max efficiency and killing.

Try Dead is Dead, clothing only, no perks, no chems, clothing only, using an unmodded 38 caliber pipe pistol...which seems to be the most common weapon in the wasteland...and it won't be as easy.

Play the game as a real person surviving in the wasteland instead of a superhero and the game changes a bit.

I REALLY hate that response, more then words can say. We had the same attitude from people defending Skyrim for being too easy "You dont HAVE to craft weapons, or build a strong character, its your fualt the game is too easy" Do you know how stupid that sounds? A huge point to the game is getting stronger, why would anyone play a gimp? 99% of us, myself included, if this really happened to us we would either 1) Be dead within 3 days or 2) Stay by the vault and have Codsworth take care of us. Its pretty dumb to say "play like a weak normal person"

To beat the game on a difficulty past normal, it should be REQUIRED that you build a strong character who can either 1) Fight well, either close combat, sniper, stealth 2) Have amazing force of character to talk his way out of fights or have others fight for him. 3) Be some kind of scientist/engineer who can build/upgrade robots to fight for him. That is the way games used to be. Its quite recent in gaming history overall that you can breeze through these games without any effort or thought into character design.

The only way the game should be easy is because you set it to easy under settings. Not because you uses the resources they gave you and built a competent character.

I recommend you wait for some mods that changes gameplay to your liking. I assume like most people you have installed a lot of mods in Skyrim to make it the game you wanted it to be... unless you played it on a console.

Personally, I like Fallout 4, but it is not a perfect game... One of my gripes is the game is more FPS than RPG. In comparison to Fallout 3, I would have to say at this point in time I like Fallout 3 much more because it had more RPG feel to the game and because I installed mods to customize that game to my liking. I am sure mods will make me like Fallout 4 more once they are released. Don't get me wrong though, I like the FPS feel of the game in combat, but I which Bethesda did not de-emphasize the RPG aspect of the game. Kinda reminds me of the Mass Effect trilogy... ME 1 was RPG, ME 2 was RPG / Action, ME 3 was action.

As far as dialog... Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 cannot even come close to the dialog in Fallout 1 and Fallout 2.

yea the feeling i'm getting is that your own gameplay preferences probably made your game 20 times less enjoyable, plus all the other reasons you don't like it are because this game doesn't meet your personal preference for content...

you can't buy a flight sim and then say it svcks when you already know you don't like flight sims going into it...

sorry u dont like FO4, but your statements couldn't be more subjective

I did like it, I still am kind of interested in the plot and the different things I could have done but like I said the game just isn't Role Playable enough for me I guess. Skyrim had tons of lore and books everywhere to read. I probably read more books from Oblivionm, skyrim and ESO than I have in real life. I did like how you have audio taps and stuff, but like how you can choose to be somewhat on the side of either faction and at one point even manage to get factions siding together to fight another faction that doesn't really make much sense. I felt like my ingame choices broke the games story for me. Not to mention I had no feel for my character, I didn't think what he thought about his son I didn't even think it was implied. But it was I guess, even though my character never mentioned it him self until the time actually came and he showed it. (trying not to spoil) and originally the intent to look for your son goes out the window because the main quest is telling you to go half way across the map where you get killed every 5 seconds at first. I spent most of my time looking for materials and building and upgrading.

With skyrim for example, there was set paths you would go down, a real role playing experience. It's not that I didn't like this games setting or plot but It had no paths I couild go down. In this game the set paths are apart of the main storyline so it's like not it's own story.

OK. So don't play anymore. There are a lot of games out there. Maybe one of the others will be for you.

Of course, we do have mods coming, so, maybe you can pick it up when they are available and you'll be more satisfied?

Damn, you sound like Marcy Long. “I'll stop complaining when there's nothing left to complain about.” I've a feeling you actively look for things to complain about for reasons only you may not even understand. I sure as hell don't understand.

If your on console don't get rid of it just yet. Shelve it and come back in a year when mods can rebalance the game to your liking. trust me when i say that the modding for this game is going to be the biggest yet seen in a Bethesda game. Currently the Nexus is avg more than 6 new files an hour which is 3 times more than Skyrim at this time after it's release.

My problem with the game is twofold. On the one hand the lack of RPG makes it uninteresting a second time around and on the other hand the incredibly long loading times make late-game a chore to play.

It was a fun shooter to play once, until I was about 2/3rds through with the content. But I have no desire to go for a second playthrough.

It's the very first time I can say this about a Bethesda open world game and I think it's a shame. The process of removing features which arguably started around Oblivion has for me finally reached a point where it impacts replayability.

I really love the game so far, but must admit - at Level 37 with about 175 hours in on my 1st playthrough - I find some aspects disappointing. I don't see myself doing 10 or 15 different playthroughs like FO3 or NV that kept me going for a years waiting for FO4. Seems FO4's focus is more FPS rather RPG. With FO3 or NV I've had 1000's of hour and can still go back to them now.

But today I bought the FO4 Vault Dwellers Survival Guilde at B&N, so I'm hoping that some of the nuances of the various quests in this book with help.

Yes, Skyrim was easier. It was child's play to have a weapon that one-hit killed everything and health regen so high your character unkillable to 95% of the game's enemies.

no ^^

every feature that the Fallout series lost from 3 and NV, was backed up by something new

it's no less RPG than the older games... it's just different

Well, different strokes for different folsk. For example, I cannot stand New Vegas, and there are a lot of people that love the game. Same with Starcraft. I love Warcraft but never did like Starcraft.

All Bethesda games are easy if you know how to get powerful gear. In Morrowind my character was literally like a God and destroyed everything. This is just how it is.

There IS a solution... Without using mods. Just don't wear armor (only clothing) and use weapons that are not OP... Those 2 things alone make the game better.

With that said yes they should balance things quite a bit
