Don't make females look like Dragon Age Inquisition females.

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 5:34 am

Please do not design the females to look like the females in Dragon Age Inquisition. The females in DAI were designed horribly and is one of the main reasons I got a refund for that game.

I suggest modeling your females with your own unique style or use Witcher 3 females as inspiration. CDProjectRED is an excellent example of designing females that are not only diverse in their appreance, but are also attractive and non-attractive.

For the record I've never had any problems with how the females were designed in Fallout 3 & Fallout New Vegas.

I'm a huge fan of Fallout 3 and am looking forward to Fallout 4 a great deal. Thank you for hearing my words.

They've already been designed - whatever you like or dislike is beyond addressing at this point.

Do you really think a game coming out in less than 5 months hasn't had the female 's designed already?

OMG, THANK GOD! SHE LOOKS FEMALE. You don't know how happy I am. Thank you Bethesda for knowing how to design and model female faces properly. I'm just a bit scarred after seeing Cassandra Pentaghast's male face/male skull in Dragon Age Inquisition. A game that I got a refund for.

I'm so happy that the female in that screenshot looks female. Can someone forward this post to Bioware developers? lol.

Well theres mods you can talk about on there forum, there are mods you cant talk about on there forums here that are on Nexus and then there are mods that are banned on nexus that are hosted elsewhere, and then there are mods that are banned even there.

I agree with Direman, it is probably too late.

I played (a little) of DA:I on the XBox 360, and I agree that they looked terrible. The men weren't much better, as the facial hair looked like a 2 year-old scribbled it on with marker. The hair looked very plastic and faces were too shiny on both genders. I'm usually not that picky when it comes to graphics but that was awful. :yuck:

Yeah, right... I wouldn't bet on real hair not even for TES 6 whenever it comes :|

You actually refunded Dragon Age: Inquisition solely because you didn't like the look of the female NPCs?

Witcher 3 women were the best representation of the fairer six I've ever seen in a game: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/EpvkWPDxD8I/maxresdefault.jpg

OP do you just mean they should all be perfect-10 models and not have any ugly or manly looking ladies?

Cassandra was not attractive, but that doesn't mean she didn't look like a woman. She just looked like a manly, sharp-faced woman. She kinda looked like a young Demi Moore with a bit of Jamie Lee Curtis who are both most definitely women.

How? I thought the hair looked good, its an limited way to make hair to not kill framerate, you also have to live with that hair after the war who generates some issues, I for one refused to touch hair mods in Skyrim, majority looked way to plastic to me, the better ones might look good in the sims, however unlike sims your character don't shower every day neither will your FO4 character.

It's not really a "please don't design them like that" anymore, rather than a "I hope they didn't design them like that". After watching the E3 presentation, I'm pretty confident in their designs. The wife (protagonist as choice) looks fairly attractive, and her features appear soft and feminine (unlike, DA:I, I agree). I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. I highly suggest you watch the E3 coverage. (Link Below)

Why would Bethesda try to make their game look less distinctive by aping another developer's visual style?

Sure, game mechanics (like voiced protagonist). Graphics quality, certainly. But look at all the pictures posted so far - they are strongly (maybe desperately?) trying to keep the same visual style that FO3 had. So 10 to 1 the characters will have very similar design ethics, because that's what helps everyone who sees video clips or screenshots recognise it.

At worst they'll have similar design ethics to the characters in Skyrim.

Plus, of course, they've actually been designed and implemented by pretty much the same people as the ones who developed the characters for FO3 and Skyrim

To be fair, this is a fantasy game. Boom.

But no, just kidding about my comment. Wasteland women don't have time for proper skincare, and that sun is hot, hot, hot. No doubt the bomb would have put a hole somewhere in the ozone layer or whatever [insert science thing here]. Protagonist reserves the right to be the fairest in the irradiated wasteland.

Perhaps TES 9, watch Avatar, the most expensive movie ever made with an render farm some thousand times faster than an titan card and not rendering real time, notice the hair on the catgirls. I guess the fasion of hairstyle is just random :)

Hair is some of the hardest things to render, you naturally need physic on it too.

yes they both looked good to me, one fun thing I noticed in FO3 was that the handcrafted ladies tend to be ugly wile the random generated raider girls usually was decent looking, making me feel bad sniping them.

Just out of curiousity what exactly is badly designed about Bioware's females? Not unattractive, mind you, since that's subjective but more importantly utterly irrelevant - but badly designed?

Cassandra is a bit mannish looking but there are women that look like that in real life. What I thought was funny is when my character (female) came onto her, she was appalled. lol
