Don't send Valentine to Sanctuary - you will lose him

Hello,

I am playing on PS4, and this afternoon, i sent Nick Valentine to Sanctuary ...

And later when i returned to Sanctuary, impossible to find him...

I created a bell to call everybody, but he was not here...

I returned to Valentine detective agency, btu he was not here...

Any idea to get him again ?

At a specific point in the questline he will go to Diamond City rather than home. Check his house or Piper's.

This. Some quests send him back to his office in Diamond City. You may also want to check your quest journal and make sure you don't have a quest to meet him somewhere else.

ya like the others said- he returns to Goodneighbor i think (not diamond city)

also- he took his damn time walking to santuary in my game.....dont stress it is all im saying

Also we the PC, travel faster than NPC's. if you send an NPC somewhere and then fast travel there they will still be en-route.

That could be true,

when i returned from Kellog quest, we (with Nick) gone to meet Pipper, and when they asked who will go with me for the next part of the mission,

I pressed X, and i have heard my character say :

Ok Nick we will meet to Doctor "X" location (but he stayed with me), this action did not send him anywhere...

So may be he is waiting me to the doctor location ...

it appear a lot of people have this problem on internet... i am not alone, sadly on PS4 we cannot enter codes to fix this problem

I hope Bethesda will fix this, because now, i cannot change follower, i am afraid to lose it another time (i have lost 4 hours of game)...

Everyone claims EVERYONE is lost when they send them to Sanctuary. Look, the place is just HUGE. Way too big. But your people are there SOMEWHERE.

I personally keep one settlement just for me and companions in a small location, and keep all my companions there. Like Croup Manor. Easy to find everyone.

There are points in the game where companions need to be 'elsewhere'.

I lost Danse at one point

(he was hanging out at, don't ask, Abernathy Farm).

I found him not long after on a quest - so all was fine.

But before that ,I could go to Abernathy Farm,

and clamber in/out of Power Armor,

which Danse would 'like' despite him being invisible... B)

Have to disagree with LateWhiteRabbit, granted Sanctuary is big, but a Bell fixes that issue. Sometimes you may misclick, but more likely they're heading somewhere quest related. Got to a point in a certain quest with Dogmeat that took me a bit of work to figger out where he was, and why he wasn't where I'd sent him.

Sent Nick to Sanctuary twice, before I figgered out why he wasn't there.

Is there anything that will keep Curie in Sanctuary? I've been through her personal quests, got her to maximum devotion, but even so, when I dismiss her to Sanctuary she heads back to her home instead. Is there some ancillary quest there that I need to clear up? There's nothing relevant in my quest log.

On my side, i was at Tempines Bluff when i sent him to Sanctuary...

And even if Sanctuary is big, i installed a Bell, and ringed the bell...

Everybody came here, even Pipper, but no Nick...

I always send my companions back to their original place because of that.

I moved Preston and Curie to the castle, but that was it. I guess Dogmeat too, if he counts.

LOL, I have Danse as the Sanctuary barkeep. I've always wanted to buy liquor from a Space Marine.

The funny thing is, isn't HE supposed to be MY C.O.? How'd he end up serving drinks in the boonies? I bet he's got important BoS $#@! to do, too...

After doing some tests :

I gone to Sanctuary, asked Nick to leave and go to sanctuary.

I didn't vanish, and was here...

I fast traveled to another location, and returned to Sanctuary, i found him near my bar (brew shop)...

I slept until 9 o'clock in the morning, NIck vanished, impossible to found him...

I remembered it was night when i saw him near the bar, so i slept until 8 o'clock PM, nothing, he was not here...

I slept again until 11h45 PM and he was here... near the bar...

after this, i done some tests, fast traveled, returned, and he was here.. but he is turning in Sanctuary... the only sure variable, is at after 11 o'clock PM he is near the bar...

i hope he will stay... and not vanish again...

On PC the way I handle the lost companions is very straight forward, you click on them in console and when they get lost you just type "moveto player", you can also use "prid" something to select them without clicking on them.
But yeah, depending on where you are in the MQ he could be in Goodneighbor.
