Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:46 pm

these stats are for the pc,

i dont think ive ever seen a game stay number 1 on the steam charts for this long (http://store.steampowered.com/stats/), but skyrim has, even when tf2 went free to play the game wasn't played this long (i think). just out of curiosity ive been checking on it every day and skyrim is number 1 on the charts. This is a truley amazing game and i think its great that lots of people are playing it

I don't know what to think of this. Is it good or bad? It probably makes the next game even simpler and Skyrim has already pushed the limits of hand-holding.

True. Although I think it's great for PC gaming. Who knows... maybe it might encourage some indie developers to try their hand at a PC exclusive open-world RPG.

There are too few choices nowadays on PC. We are literally "forced" to buy it, or resort to pirate, or give up gaming altogether.

The steam recorded hours for me is pretty inaccurate. All my save files together are around 90 hours but Steam says it's 110 hours and I've only left the game on for a little bit before, like 10 mins.

this, though to be honest pc sales were a small amount of the sales, think home many people are playing on the consoles, NOW think about how much beth made (90,000 X 60 =5,400,000) now thats JUST THE AMOUNT FROM PC USERS ONLINE AT ONE TIME TODAY. Now of cource that isn't all profit. more money=more people to help develop the game=more detail=better game. or, it should

Your save files do not record all of the reloads when you die, nor do they count the seconds/minutes you spend loading up the game or sitting in the menu screen or messing with settings.

Steam records every single second from the very second you click "play" to the second you return to desktop.

It's cause skyrim doesn't have any direct competition. it's the only RPG of its kind out there, and it has barely been released a month.

I think the only thing it really says is the majority of PC gamers play Skyrim. On consoles I would be surprised if Skyrim was even in the top five games played.

The time listed on your saved games is how far your character is into the game, not how long you've played that character. The time doesn't include the lost time from dying, for example. If you save your game and die 45 minutes later and have to go back to that save, that is 45 minutes of play that doesn't count towards the time displayed on your saves.

It's got two more months before Reckoning challenges it.

I have played approaching sixty hours. Over the course if the next several years I will put thousands of hours into this game with over twenty or more characters.
