I don't understand how the dynamic snow works.

We don't know?
How would we know? We haven't played Skyrim.

Indeed the Uncharted franchise has been so good at this micro level stuff.
Bethesda, learn from these guys!

Incidentally, Uncharted 3 is coming out. Guess when?

Pretty funny, or what?

Yea when I saw that date I thought it was interesting that it was all 1's as well. Beth has the better date though. But I wouldn't mind playing it on November 1st either!

Uncharted 3 is looking out to be a great game. Uncharted 2 got rave reviews acroos the board (a PS3 exclusive), deemed by some the best (Third person shooter) game ver on that plattform..
Bethesda could learn a lesson or two from their darn good animations, attention to details and really immersive gameplay.
Of course, the reverse is also truth. Bethesda could school on a number of topics.

Yea I have a PS3 and have played both Uncharted 1 and 2. I'm also going to get 3.

I do hope that some areas in Skyrim stay snow free. I'm looking forward to the snowy areas and the tundra but I'd like the pine and fall forest to stay the way they looked in the trailer. If it snows in those areas too then hopefully parts of the forests will stay snow free.

I'm also interested in seeing the transitions into different areas and how the weather/climate/look of the environment transitions. Hopefully we aren't in a snowy tundra area and then all of a sudden we're in a lush, green forest with not a single snow flake.

I've read about how the snow in Skyrim is supposed to be dynamic and will fall in real-time. I read that there are no pre-done snow textures for the environment.

Now what I'm wondering is:

1. How would something like that be possible with the current technology?

2. If it's not all dynamic, to what extent is it and is it not?

It is my belief that there will be a mixture of snow-textured environments with a certain level of dynamic snow sprinkled on top. Is this the way it is? That's what I'm looking for confirmation on.
Myth 2 had 3d snow and rain (and if a rain drop hit your molotov cocktail mid air, it could extinguish it :chaos:); That was back around the time of Fallout 1&2.

Wouldn't it be neat if they had a snowball similar to the tumble weed in NV... and could dup/spawn a hundred of them to simulate an avalanche?

See the numerous technical snow posts by jonwd7. He has the best understanding of how snow will probably work.
