I don't want to be loved by everybody...

In OB you could be loved by EVERYONE except for people that just naturally hate you, like the gladiator in the Arena guild, he loves you throughout your experience in the guild, but when you kill the grand champion of Cyrodiil he starts hating you because you killed his 'mentor'.
I want to know that there are people out there that don't trust anyone, I want to see different personalities, I want to see that some people actually have hobbies besides their jobs.
I don't want to have a mini-game that brainwashes every guy\girl that I meet. I want someone to be jealous of me, someone that adores me and looks up to me (not in the Adoring Fan creepy kinda way).

As long as there are many people, while some are random, how about giving them different and random personalities. For example:

A guy that always wanted to be a hero, but since you're taking all the glory he dislikes you after hearing about you, he envies you and may even challenge you to a duel.

Though a rival is a bit too much to ask, it could be a good example, or even something similar, like a guy that trains his skills to surpass you one day.

Also possible: Not every fight has to be a fight to the death. I hope that we can spare lives this time around. Could've been cool.

A septim for your thoughts.

P.S: Don't get me wrong, I do want an option to raise my speechcraft skill and to make people love me more, but I want it not to have an affect on everyone that I'm able to speak with for more than one topic...

I particularly like the idea of a duel not always ending in death. It seems much more logical, unless it is a matter of great importance, to have the person simply surrender when a certain threshold has been met. Of course, there is still the problem of
"What do I do if I insta-kill the guy?"

At that point they'll know not to mess with you..........unless they're stupid

@ OP, I definetly agree. You make enemies almost no matter what, especially if you're in the spotlight.

I liked in Morrowind how almost everyone hated you, you felt excluded, though you could always make them love you as well, it felt differently. In OB everyone loved you, no matter what, not only you've won the Oblivion crysis, but you're also the grand champion in the arena, head of the mages guild, head of the fighters guild. Apparently you're one of the most important figures in the history of the world, it's weird though that your name is not being publicly written in books and articles in the Horse Currier.

anyway, back on topic. PC-NPC relations are one of the most important features a game could have, because it makes you feel loved\hated\lonely\happy\sad\funny or serious.

Even though the OP is going to hate me for saying this, I love you for pointing this out.
