Hi!

I have just installed skyrim and steam on my computer. I have a limited use of "internet" to 20 gig/month and steam wants me to download a update to skyrim that is quite big, 5,1 gig. I don't want to and I can't either. Is there anyway to solve this? As soon as i try to play it starts to download the update and I can't play while updating either. It starts to download even in offline mode. I also changed the "always update" status thing to "never" but that doesn't work either. Shouldn't I be able to play the game when I have the cd and all??

Chances are that it's downloading the high resolution texture pack. You can message Steam Support and ask them to remove it from your account. You'll be able to re-add the pack at any time if you want, it's just to stop it from automatically installing.

It probably isn't all the texture pack though. IIRC it was only about 4.6 GB - the rest could be patches and you want to install them. But if you have the legendary edition, they should be included on the disc, in which case I don't know what the remaining 0.5 GB is.

Obviously game or steam updates !!!!

I had for a month or so a 466 MB update via steam, but i don't know what's all about.

The game works fine, so i don't bother !!!

I got help and now the update was reduced to 400 mb x) I was the texture pack and some other stuff ty for your help!!
