Mmkay TC. If you're done with them send 'em my way. I love fighting the things.

They are linked to FTing. Like someone said earlier, don't fast travel to locations that are close to you and that might help out some.

That can't possibly be right. I fast travel *everywhere* and I don't get a ton of dragon spawns. The ones I fight seem triggiered by certain areas in the environment and some just appear and fly around never once even attacking anything until I give up and leave.

So far I have fought 1 random dragon, in Falkreath. Other than that I have only seen them as part of the main story, or at their various roosts. (The dragon head icon on the map) That's in. One.

What the F?

I don't fast travel simply because I WANT random encounters, including Dragons. As a result I never fast travel, and as a result of that I don't get random dragons? Lovely...

I fast travel constantly. And in 60+ hours, I think I've gotten maybe a dozen random dragons (plus the set location & quest ones, but those don't count.)

Makes me think that the "It's linked to FT" thing isn't the full story.

Maybe its not the FT that spawns them, rather the in game time passing, when you are "running" from point a to b it takes more real life time, and the in game time goes on pace, however when you FT, it eats up the in game time in the 5 seconds it takes to load your next area as though you actually ran through it...

Just a thought.

i love the dragons, i dont see them all that often and inormaly half to make that "dramatic final stand" aganst them (usually because they corner me, catch me in the plains without a horse, or something worse the other way [frost troll...just frost trolls... :cold: ]). one time a random dragon flew low over head and just ignored me (which was good because i was already running from a saber cat)

I have 53 hours and 5-6 random dragons. Latest been blood dragons. >< They appear when I'm not fast travelling.

Is there way to deal with Blood Dragons?

I was sad after I finished the MQ. Near the end of it Dragons spawn like.. 10 in the same place, I loved it :( But now I find one or two every... 2-3 hours? =/

But I can see how it might be annoying.

Just use the console command to give yourself 1000 dragon souls and they stop spawning.

Lol. They only attack winterhold for me. I barely see them, but eveery SINGLE time I leave winterhold college, a dragon spawns. There are so many bones -- in the courtyard, on the rooftops...

And they seem to be magnetically attracted to the college's door.

EDIT!: meant winterhold. Not whiterun.

I want there to be less dragons but the dragons to be tougher and more epic. Have them do some shouts. Never have I had a dragon do a shout at me in combat

Especially for mele characters if you don't have dragonrend.

And fast travel is a part of the game, so its still a problem.

I use fast travel a lot, but early in the game, even after starting the main quest, it didn't result in many dragon spawns, although I did notice that many times they actually did spawn it happened just after my char took his first steps after fast traveling. But now, on level 40 and maybe midway or so (step 11 of 18) in the mainquest, there's more dragons then ever. Over the last 1,5 hour of gameplay I've encountered 4 dragons, and I start getting really anxious to use fast travel.

If it continues like this I guess I'd better just hurry up and finish the main quest so I can go back to "role-playing" and doing more laidback stuff, like killing bandits.

The only Dragons I've seen near a city were near Falkreath and Morthal. And I'm 50 hours in...

there is no way I am going to do the MQ just because I am fricking tired of random dragon spawn. they are like rats.

I have killed so many, I have lost count. and they never spawn at a scary time just inconvenient.

and AND they spawn too many time in the same place. seriously, after my 3rd dragon kill in riverwood, you think the lesser dragons would STAY AWAY. do you go where your friends got murdered? I can see an elder showing up to riverwood because they were ticked at our murder of their fellow dragons.

DONE!

I am going to go download the "no random dragon spawn" mod. right now.

In my game, The mages college in winterhold, had the skeletons of 7 separate dragons in it. You'd have thought it was a damn museum!

I am guessing fast travel has a lot to do with it. My level 35 mage has only met seven dragons total so far and that includes two of which were scripted into quests. I don't ever fast travel though, so I guess they just don't pop up that much.

Dragons were cool AT FIRST, then after a while you just get tired of them. I especially hate it when I am chatting up an npc or doing a quest and a dragon pops in on me ruining whatever I am doing. Its also uncool that you can't fast travel away and more or less have to fight them.

It seems most times when I fast travel to a location a dragon spawns right when I get there. and it's like an obstacle rather than a cool rare moment.

While I love the dragons and the fights with them are great, there are too many. I have more souls than I could ever use, and the bones are way too heavy.

I think they should be much more rare than they currently are. They are the new oblivion gates, but at least they are fun.
