Doors + Collisions

Post » Mon Aug 30, 2010 5:42 pm

I'm sure someone has a quick answer here. I'm building an area using the rivet city tile set. I'm trying to use the swinging bulk-head doors (RCSmDoor01 specifically) between some of my rooms. The doors can be activated fine and open/animate just fine, however, the collision boundary for the door doesn't move, meaning that I can't actually walk through the doorway once it is open.

I'm sure it's something simple and dumb that I'm missing here . . . any ideas?

No idea. I looked at the nif. it appears to be correctly working- the collision is animated.

Do I need to re-name the base file, or flag these as persistent references or anything weird like that or can I just drag them into place?

I got it fixed. I had copied + pasted the doors instead of dragging in a new instance from the object list. Doh!

I use that same door with no problem. I did however, once have a problem with a hotel door, where once placed and opened in-game, I could not step through it. I had to remove that door and place a new one to get it to work. Perhaps you are having a similar problem?

Opps - fixed before my post went up.

I have also had this issue before, with a Bathroom Stall Door. It appears to be a rather random occurance, and simply deleting then placing it again fixes it. I'm not sure why this happens though...
