Doors...

surely for opening doors quickly you could just run into them?

also, i think this is a great idea, especially if it was implicated such that the speed of opening the door effects your chance of being detected if in sneak mode. it would make sneaking far more tactical

Maybe not if it's opened the other way ;)

Yeah, everyone seems to associate this feature iwth horror, but it'd add a lot to sneaking as well, just hearing the door make sounds with that guard a few feet away... THAT'S tension!

If this was the primary way of opening doors, it might be a little too complicated for every average player out there. I know it's not actually complicated, but it's just too much to do for 500+ hours of gaming to have to constantly stop and open doors all the time, when you could just press A.

I think if it were implemented, it should be kept the way it was in Oblivion. Tap A, it opens, or closes. However, you can also interact with the door the same way you could with physics objects. By holding down LB (I believe.. on Xbox anyway), you could interact with the door just like other in game objects. And depending on if it's more open or closed from your interaction, tapping A would just reset it. So you could either open it physically, or just with a tap of the usual button.

Great idea! A pretty cool and immersive control system, and if you don't like it, they could always let us toggle it on/off in the options menu

That's not how "options" work at Bethesda...if you don't like it, you can always play on PC and mod it out.

That's more like it, stealthy characters would need to get used to that feature to make successful attempts at sneaking through dungeons etc.

This would definitely make dungeons a lot scarier. However, I'd imagine if I was slowly opening a door and I suddenly saw a zombie charging at me, I would slam the door shut before I do anything else.

Hah, I would do that as well. :D
