Dovahkiin's helmet on an Argonian

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 3:18 am

Since an Argonian's face is pretty long, how will the game handle these kinds of helmets?

I was thinking the same, I guess the same way you would expect the game to handle putting elves long ears into helmets. I'm Guessing the game will make the helmets flexible to your players skull.

I'd hope there is available race specific armor, although I know it won't. I wouldn't mind the beast races not wearing boots and helmet as long as they are given some balance by racials.

How did they do it in Oblivion? Like helmets that cover half the face.

They could give argonians armor for their tails instead of boots, I think. That might work. Not sure about the other beast races.

The fit? Not well! Really though im sure theres ways an argonian would compensate for a bad-fitting helmet. Who knows the Dovahkiin helmet may have different variants to it.

a reptilian dovahkiin... that'd be funny.

you know, imagining the dovahkiin as an argonian or khajiit... makes the whole thing very strange.

i wonder if we'll get different dialogue in the story depending on our race... kinda like how that annoying prisoner across from us at the start of oblivion said different things depending on our race and gender?

i mean, the people of skyrim must be expecting a NORDIC dovahkiin... or atleast imperial... what would they say if their legendary savior was an argonian or khajiit?

...or an orc?

Are you being racist to the beast races? In fact, I see it VERY strange seeing a Nord, Imperial, Redguard, Dark Elf, High Elf, Orc, or Wood Elf Dovahkiin

If it were up to me, it wouldn't. Argonians shouldn't be able to wear helmets that cover most of the face, and the same should go for any boots or shoes. (I hate to sound like a broken record, but in other words, it should be the way it was in Morrowind).

Well, maybe we just don't like EGM files. Or maybe you are correct.

Like it was in Morrowind? When no one played the beast races because of their deficiencies? When the beast races were seen as "weak" and a "not good race" and "broken"? I think not!

I'd be surprised if the game didn't do something special for Argonian dragon-borns, I mean someone would have to comment on how ironic it is

I really don't see how strange it is. Argonians are already half-lizard. Lizards are half-dragon.

That's total bull. I always played as an Argonian in Morrowind.

not sure whether you're being serious or not, but if you're trying to be funny, you're failing quite heavily...

i love argonians and khajiit... and i really despise you for even suggesting that im being racist against them. :verymad:

anyway... legend must obviously depict the dovahkiin as a nord, because... look at the background of the forums! not to mention the 12-13 story tall banner on that one hotel for E3!

so, i assume the people of skyrim would expect to see a nord rise up as their hero, or at the very least, an imperial... i just doubt they're expecting an argonian, khajiit, or one of the elven races to be their savior.

Edit: also, wow... your posts just make me sick to my stomach... you find it STRANGE that a nord would be dovahkiin? your logic is just totally ass-backwards, isnt it?

also, the whole talk about argonians being half lizard and thus being half dragon... i cant think of a nice way to respond to that... but its ignorant.

tell me, exactly how much do you even know of the lore?

What if? and this is just a BIG what if. What if the dovahkiin they have been showing is is the last one and is just a flashback being told by one of the elders.
