Dovahkiin helmet/armor, preorder bonuses?

Post » Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:35 pm

Kind of a lame question, but will we definitely get to wear the awesome helmet and armor from the previews? Its just too epic! Maybe the first armor we find in the game, perhaps?
I couldn't help but notice that the single pauldron moved from the left shoulder to his right shoulder. Maybe we can choose our armor placement? (Most likely not, but i'd dig it! Kinda like Reach's armor customization?) It was probably a scene played reversed...

Has anything been said about the preorder bonuses if any, and what type of editions are being brought up?

We'll probably be getting it as end-game armor or something. I just hope not it's not any starting armor, because it looks too powerful for starting armor. And I certainly hope there won't be any pre-order bonuses.

End game armor? It doesn't look that powerful. I wouldn't be surprised to see it early on. Maybe a gift from Esbern?

:o
No don't say that!!! Shhhush!
lol

I also wanted to ask about the fighting of the Dragons...
Will they be kind of predictable, as in fly real close- you swing sword-lots of blood-dragon goes down after a few more passes? Because fitting toe-to-toe with one kinda seems...impossible, even with our fancy shmancy tanks- er, I mean Dragonshouts!

Maybe so. I just hope we won't get stupid armor for the end of the main quest reward like in Oblivion.

Pre-order bonuses are fine with me however i don't think it would be the armor we saw in the previews. as far as the Pauldrons go nice observation i didn't notice that, it could be a fluke but well discovered if its not.

I doubt end game armour but I also doubt it'll be the very first set we see.. I just hope that the armour in skyrim isn't so strictly tiered like in Oblivion ( You get level 20, you wear Mithril if you're speced in light armour or Orcish if in heavy. ) I hope it's like Fallout where the armour is just kind of randomly set about and various pieces give various bonuses.

A cool pre-order would be a T shirt with Alduin's Wall covering it. But then comes the issue of sizes and such...

EDIT: typo

i think a fair pre-order that doesn't ask to much is maybe you get a free house like the mages toward from oblivion or maybe just one extra quest added to your game.

We will probably see artifacts, but also some sort of magical dragon armor (At least for the endgame).

I don't think we should get anything in-game as a pre-order reward. Maybe like a free t-shirt order or something.

Completely agree with this. I loathe any pre-order bonus. If you want something extra, how about shelling out extra for the collectors edition? Pre-ordering makes nobody any extra money. All it does is provide whichever store you do it at a higher chance at repeat business. Secondly, how in the hell does a developer justify having something extra on a disk that is witheld from a player simply because that player didn't give Gamestop $5 bucks for a game 2 months before it comes out? A person who doesn't pre-order didn't pay any less for the game, he shouldn't be denied any content, even if the extra content is just a few pretty pixels.

But then again, I'm of the mind that when I buy a game, I OWN that copy of the game and did not buy a license to play that can be revoked at any time for any reason.

I could go either way. If they do pre-order bonuses, I hope it's at least not store-dependent like New Vegas. Personally, I think they should do Pre-order bonus items, but then just scrap the "Pre order bonus" part of that, so we're just left with more items.

Pre-order bonuses are almost always DLC.

Generally, the pre-order bonuses you get are worth 5 dollars, so it's (sort of) justified.

I don't think there will be any pre-order bonuses however. Just a hunch

pre-order bonuses are always small but if you want to go that direction of get the collectors instead tell me why play x more dollars for a game when the same game with everything the game has for the normal price when it comes out... all the collectors is a glorified pre-order with a better looking case and one or 2 addition... why does there have to be any bonuses at all? and a lot of times you need to "pre-order" that collector's edition because after that the only ways to get one is A. luck or B. if its used

if there is a bonus then so what.... its a single player game it affects you in no way unless you yourself pre-order if you don't want it don't pre-order... besides most pre-orders are not on the disk its added DLC style via redemption code.
