Post » Fri Dec 02, 2011 9:24 am

bethesda challenged everybody a few months back, if their child was born 11-11-11, to name him dovahkiin. these people actually did it.
sorry if there's already been a thread.

Damn, I feel sorry for the kid. "Sorry son, we named you after a video game so we could recieve free games for life."

I don't feel sorry for him at all... that is an awesome name. Plus, he's probably just going to go by Tom.

Lol I like the comment on that page. That's gonna be pretty awkward for the kid though, maybe he should go by his middle name in school.

I'd love an interesting name like. Screw normal names like Tom, chris, James, phil and crap like that. People need to be a bit more creative with their childrens names.

"dad, what does my name mean?"

"Well son. In their tongue you are Dovahkiin, DRAGONBORN!"

To each their own. Even if he does go by Tom, though, that doesn't change what's on his liscence, the mail he recieves every day, what teachers and employers call him upon first encounter, etc.

Well, his classmates are going to be people who were 0 years old when Skyrim came out, so they probably aren't going to have played it.

I mean, how many people will still be playing Skyrim 10-14 years down the road, with Elder Scrolls VIII already released?

What exactly is wrong with it. It actually sounds like a legit name and it means dragonborn. I'd take that.

They'll probably just call him Dovah, for short.

Odds are the other kids in school will settle on Dave because it sounds something like it and is also a "normal" name, or he with use his middle name, Tom.
