Now looking at the traditional Vanilla Dragon Priests and even most of the Dragonborn DP's, they are all purely mages. However, Miraak, who was the inspiration for my character, carries both a staff and a sword. This gave me the idea that I want my character to be a very powerful battlemage.
Here comes the part I have the most trouble with. I have already decided that he will wear heavy armor with a hood of some sort (until he retrieves the golden 9th Dragon Priest mask, his rightful inheritance he feels like) but what should be some things he focuses on. Despite there not being a pure class system in Skyrim, I need to lay out some ground rules so as to not break character while playing.
Magic
Destruction (I'm thinking Shock spells mainly with perhaps Fire as a nice backup)
Conjuration (I'm partial to the Daedra unless someone can convince me about Necromancy otherwise)
Enchanting (In order to create my powerful artifacts that will allow me to destroy all in my way)
Alteration (Mainly shield spells)
Combat
One-handed (he will only use swords, no matter what)
Heavy Armor (as I already said)
Smithing (In order to forge mighty armors and weapons to outpower his foes)
Does anyone have any spells that I should look into specifically or anything that I should change around? I have Dawnguard and Dragonborn and plan to become a Vampire Lord since it fits with my becoming more powerful aspect of my personality.
