I always play a Nord spellsword so the marketing hasn't affected my decision at all.

In your thread you should choose, against what other people will, to show that it's ok to be different. Otherwise the thread also can become shallow and hollow. :spotted owl:

I do hope he is the default male Nord he is very fitting for the atmosphere. Will be my first play through if this is the case.

That said, I prefer making my own characters, and don't often use any defaults, this would just be the exception.

Well some people seem to think it so, good. :bunny:

Compared to Oblivion's facial designs, of course.

You think the Fallout 3 face design is inferior to Oblivion?

Did you play the same Fallout I did? Fallout's characters were ugly, if not uglier than Oblivion's characters.

Obviously every race will have a default look, and I imagine that Prisoner Bendu "Dovahkiin" Olo (the Thunder From Down Under) is just the default male Nord. Dovahkiin is not a name, by the way, it's a messianic title.

And the vast majority of folks responding to this will say no. I've never played as a Nord and have no inclination to do so this time.

you called?

Of course not...the beauty of TES is the ability to create my own character and although I do admit than in games like ME I choose the default Shepard because I'm used to him it's not the same i n a game like TES  Besides, how would I use all 10 races? :ahhh:

Exactly it is not like this in tes, they do not market a character showing his appearance, usually. Which makes it an interesting question, has it had an effect?

That's the wonder of ES, we have the power to make our own unique characters that are not made preset by Bethesda. Even though the poster boy Dovahkiin looks like his title, that's not what my Dovahkiin or character will look like.

abreviated. . .

Oh, no no. I am an Altmer, with some mixed heritage on my maternal grandmother's side. It is who I am, and who I shall (characterwise) remain. There is some Nord blood in my ancestry. . . and some Dunmer, Falmer and Redguard. Also a healty dollop of Daedra paternity. On the surface though? Very much Altmer, and Altmer dominates my ancestry. One of the mightier Altmer mages, I am. It will drive those Nords CRAZY to lear I am the Dragon Born. But, what can you do?

Dovakhin is my character, and my character will be who and what I want her to be. I've never let anyone lead me before. I'm not about to start letting them lead me now.
