Downloaded 1.9 update now I can't play the game : V

I popped in the disc Wednesday night and did the download of the update patch. I got this error message almost instantly: "Game Error The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again. For more help visit..." message about going to Xbox 360 support page (that wasn't helpful since there weren't any alerts or any help pages in Support about this issue). I installed the game onto the hard disc when I got it and have had no issues at all until the 1.9 update patch. I have downloaded both Dawnguard and Dragonborn, again with no issue. I thought maybe it could be an issue with the 360 and dl'd content, so I popped in another game I had recently purchased extra content for and had no problem. I then tried playing another game that was a digital dl to the hard drive and got the same results.

I was able to play the game eventually on Wednesday night by ejecting the game, powering off the console and then putting in the disc after I had already logged on to my XBL account. A little slower than usual loading the game but I was able to play. Last night I popped in the disc after logging on and no problems. I tried the exact same technique today and I get the game error message above. I do have quite a few saves, over 50, among two characters but, no disrespect, I know how quirky Bethesda games can be so Save Often is the way I approach them. But up till now I have had exactly zero issues with the game and the dlc, so not complaining.

Has anyone else had this issue? I am invested in my two characters and would hate to lose all those saves! Does anyone know if Bethesda is aware because my searches for known 1.9 update issues? My searches keeps getting remediated to Flood Control. Any helpful ideas or information about if this is being seen by other folks would be greatly appreciated!
