Re-downloading every time Steam launches.

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 10:35 am

When launching steam, the game checks existing files and has to re-download every file every time. This is the third time I have had to download the entire client. I have been able to play the game fine after the download. But restarting steam triggers the download process.

Edit: I might add, I have 40 other installed games, none of which have this issue.

I can play the game perfectly fine once it has downloaded. It only re-downloads if I have to restart steam for some reason, restarting the computer for one.

My suggestion was to see if steam was offline would it try to download the game/need to download it again. Maybe it will work offline so then you can shut down ur pc etc and not have to download. I understood your able to play it.

Is it reinstalling the Steam Client, or the entire game?

One thing you can try - shut down Steam, go to its folder and delete or rename the ClientRegistry.blob file. Restart Steam and let it rebuild the blob.

If you already preloaded it, there is an additional download. SO let it dl until it finishes. The 24 gigs you already downloaded are there but it wont recognize until the launch patch is downloaded.
