Draconic-English Translator

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 2:27 am

I just finished making this nifty little online translator so you can convert English to Draconic and vice versa. A few samples:

Kill With Fire -> Krii Voth Yol
Fool of a Took -> Mey Do Aan Took
Eat ALL the animals! -> Naak Pah Faal Raan

Please note that the word pool is limited to what Emil Pagliarulo (YAY!) created for the game. It's a pool of 300 or 600 words (I forget how many), so most of your 3k working vocabulary will not fit. However, you can still make some cool phrases with it.

Feedback is welcome! FUS RO DAH!

It would be nice to be able to input the Dragon Letters/symbols themselves so that I can translate things like the Dragon Stone and the inscriptions on the word walls. Any chance of that OP?

That would require a lot more work that is a bit outside of the scope of this project, sorry. Good idea for a future feature.

But it does! Enter your text and choose "From English" or "From Draconic" and voila, the translation as best it can.

If a word isn't one of the 300-600 words already written into the game, then the translator will be unable to translate it to Draconic. That's why some words are "the same as English."

I can't confirm that "stop" is in the game, but "Tiid" is definitely time.
There's a giant list on http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_language.
