Dragging bodies

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:30 am

i was just wondering what the forum thought about dragging corpses or carrying them and an animation for it. perhaps taking your arms and putting them under the dead persons arms and dragging them, picking them up and carrying them on your shoulders.
these are just some ideas if you have other ideas please share

I voted same as in oblivion, you don't really need an animation unless your planing to playthrough in third person imo.

Not really, look at the way Crysis handles picking up objects, it pretty much treats the picked up object as a weapon.. It would be cooler if you could drag bodies as well, but also awesome if your weapon broke and you a wolf was closing in, and all you had was a wooden stick near you.

I've always liked the idea of using telekinesis magic to manipulate corpses. :goodjob:

Yeah, I think it would be cool. It makes no sense watching bodies fly through the air

I'll I have to say is that in Oblivion it was sometimes hard to move the bodies. At least it was in PC where you had to hold z and s, and possibly shift if you had always run on, at the same time. As long as it's easier to do I don't care what it looks like.

Yes. I'd love it if we could actually manipulate all objects we pick up like this. It should be possible, if quite difficult.

It makes more sense from a stealth perspective also.

It never bothered me to leave the dead around, nor did I ever really care about moving bodies.

Seems like a waste of time

The point of moving bodies is that when enemies see it they get alerted to the fact that someone is killing them all and start looking for you. However in Oblivion the NPC's reactions to dead bodies wasn't very realistic and didn't cause them to go on alert. With Skyrim though they're making the NPC's reactions more realistic, and therefore move bodies will serve more of a purpose.

It always was a bit depressing when you saw guards kill an NPC, walk away come back and announce "There's been a murder?!"

I like the way body dragging and manipulation is done in Hitman games. Like how you can drag them or hide them away in containers or throw over railings etc.

If it was able to be implemented by now then heck yeah...but i dont want them to waste precious vampirehorsewerewolf mission creation time so we can play a game that reminds me of red dead when i grab someone

That! Does anymore have to be said :). That said, I hope dragging/moving things is easier, in oblivion moving anything was a chore... and corpses were insanely hard to move anywhere.

carrying should depend on your strength level and the size of the body.. and carrying should mostly leave a blood trail behind

both but only if you can drop them really quickly like in assassins creed, otherwise we would probably die as we are trying to put down corpses gently while being hit by swords and arrows and fire. Carrying could also be used in quest, say you need to rescue someone in a cave or mine and they have broken their anckle you could carry them out.

They should take an lesson from Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell (or Thief? never played it. heard it's great).

adding the ability to hide bodies for the sake of not having anyone see/react to a dead body should be a crucial part of stealth, therefore it should have it's own animation to add to immersion.

It was terrible in Oblivion, you couldn't even really hold on to them.
