In case it wasn't posted, the new patch will come out on Monday for the PC.

I have a tech support question. The "Return to Ostagar" DLC must be free these days, because my game downloaded it without charging points/money. But I can't get it to work, because it's telling me I don't have a recent enough version of DA. I tried downloading the latest patch but the prompts are still telling me my version is too old.

I guess I'll try to patch it again. Has anyone heard that "Return to Ostagar" is free these days, or am I mistaken? (My game was bought as a boxed set, and is for the PC.)

Is $30 a good price for Awakening?

Return to Ostagar isn't free unless you bought a special edition where it was included (check your game's package). What happened, did an area marked "Bann Loren's Lands" appear your map? That's basically the "preview" that the game automatically downloads (without your consent <_<) to advertise the damn DLC in your game. As for your patching problems, I don't know what to tell you.

I'd say it is, more so since the patch is finally coming ('bout damn time).

Thanks, Xetirox. I'm not sure what's going on with the Return to Ostagar DLC, since the Bann Loren's Lands marker hasn't appeared on my map yet. My game is apparently version 1.0 and they're demanding a later version before they will unlock the content. Either I'll figure out the updating process, or I'll continue to skip the DLC I guess.

Really? Alistair does seem to get caught in traps pretty regularly after the fact, which I find hilarious, but in almost every one of my playthroughs he has been a rock-solid tank. In fact he very rarely dies. My favorite landsmeet conclusion
Spoiler
is to have him fight Loghain one on one - by that point, Al is badass. It seems very fitting, and he dispatches Loghain like a warrior should. I cannot see any reason to let Loghain live after he abandoned his king, his best friend's son, his daughter's husband, on the field at Ostagar. None of the reasons the ardent Loghain supporters have come up with about "why" he did that take away the fact that this supposedly amazing war leader quit the field. If he was so intelligent and supporting of the crown, he would not have needed to wait for the signal fire anyway... And then he grabs the regency - why? If Anora was fit to rule, she was certainly of age not to need her father as regent. Heh - sorry, I feel like the writers really flubbed the whole ending triangle there, with trying to basically retcon Loghain in order to allow an "ending" that doesn't really gibe well with the story they were telling. Having Alistair run off in a snit does such a disservice to what may arguably be the best developed character in the game. It breaks his character, basically, which was really disappointing. And which is why Loghain always gets offed in my games.

Spoiler
Is there any way to make Loghain a warden and not have Alistair become a drunk/leave, its tricky because I didnt harden Alistair, I felt like the dialouge to do it would be pretty harsh. So is this possible or is it one or the other ?

Whats Lelianas DLC like ?

Spoiler
You can never have both Loghain and Alistair, and the only way you can have Al live past the Landsmeet without becoming a drunk (or executed) is to convince he and Anora to marry. And he'll only agree to that if hardened.

All right thanks.

Just finished the game again, and what can I say. [censored] amazing. About 50 hours spent, and minimal issues. I was having some crashing issues, and somehow my character romanced Alistair(even though I'm a male). Found the mod that was the culprit, and it went smooth sailing from there. Still got some memory leaks, especially in the last quest. Hopefully the new patch will fix things, not break them.

Oh, and, 500 saves. :P

Actually, 623 saves...

I liked having him around just to hear more of Simon Templeman's lines, myself. :)

You could always get ME2, and Overlord DLC if you want to hear more of Templeman. :P

I just finished the game again, and remembereed why i love it, the ending just wraps up the loose ends (most of them) and actually makes choices feel important. Shame I found out I missed Ohgrens mission after killing the archdemon.

So does anyone else think Flemeth will possess Morrigan's body in DA2?

Exact same thing happened with me.

I'm probably gonna go pick up Awakening tomorrow. $30 sounds good from what I hear is a 20 hour expansion.

No, it happens around the same time over 10 years, and isnt related to morrigan instead we get this Hawke guy as a blight refugee. I wish it continued from origins, change the combat how much they like, but why have an origin, leave loose ends and then go on to a new character. It grinds my gears.

My money is still the mage we saw was wynne, her staff looks very similar to wynees default healer staff.

I may pick it up soon, but I have been considering a few games mostly the ones that allow freedom and less realism e/g JC2, SR2, GTA SA.

It's Flemeth. The http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/featured/electronic-arts/bioware/wallpapers/yyyDA2_Flemeth_1920x1280.jpg featuring her has been labeled as such, and the devs on the forums are pretty much confirming it at this point.

Ah [censored] so Bioware has already made it so that I didnt kill her. Great. I love it when they do [censored] like this. Why not make ME3 so I kept the CB <_< I hate having choices made meaningless.

Spoiler
First of all: Origins. Implies. Flemeth. Will. Be. Back. Even. If. You. Kill. Her. Second: if it was Wynne, how would your concern be any different? She can die too!

Spoiler
When was it stated that Flemeth was truly ever dead? Morrigan stated that Flemeth could find a new host body, which is why she refuses to go with the Warden when you confront Flemeth.

Never been able to kill Wynne in my game.
And yes its implied she can come back, but the events in DA2 are pretty much the smae time as DAO thats why flemmeth being back pisses me off.
I knew she would be back but seeing how I had only just killed her...

Well so far DA2 is grinding my gears as well. They have changed pretty much everything that made the first game so great.... The darkspawn look like some human/darkspawn pushover thingy... AND, you can only play Shepard Hawke... Now we all know Hawke doesn't afraid of anything, but damnit where the hell is my dwarf character option? Do they feel they needed tone down the RPGness of the game?

Hell in DA2 your primary weapon will probably be a crossbow or the like and it will also be a duck and cover shooter... :sadvaultboy:

My main problem is the story, DAO was aboutstory/atmosphere and in DA2 they have loose ends from DAO that cant be finished without DAOs character. On my game morrigan had a demon baby, therefore it should be my origins character who lives with this consequence and should see the results, if I play as hawke it will have much less if any impact. And to me it dose seem like bioware is selling out, instead of tying up loose ends they left them.

Because my character is no longer envolved  thought that was obvious tbh.

What I meant was, what makes you think they won't make another expansion/full game to end the Warden's story? BioWare is smart enough to know that their fans want closure to the Warden's story.

Because they made DA2 and its not about my warden, having it go back after 2 would just cause the problems that leaving origins caused by leaving loose ends. Besides they made it pretty obvious they dont want to go back, considering they already seem to like pre defined characters. If they actually wanted to go back to origins they shouldnt be making pre defined characters like Hawke. Because my character from origins is Unique, here in DA2 they dont like unique they want the same for everyone.
