Dragon Age: Origins, Awakening & DA2

Wait what ?! This better not effect my duel rouge, what worried me in the videowas I saw 6 hawkes, I think there are only 6 classes in the game... This is bad.

Those are most likely: male warrior, female warrior, male rogue, female rogue, male mage, female mage. There are three classes, just like in Origins. There are many new specializations to choose from, however.

Dual wielding is exclusive to rogues now, in order to make classes more unique, and because massive armor clad warriors would look silly with the DW animations.

ToJKa approves +10.

Hopefully two-handed weapons are likewise exclusive to warriors. Or were they already in Origins?

I hope this means rogues can't wear massive armor now.

Trailer hawke was a blood mage, so warriors cant use 2 weapons yet a bloodmage4 can do the stuff we saw in the trailer...
@Rabinna I dont think it was M/F warriors, rogues and mages, I am sure they were all male, I think one was blood mage (could be wrong I saw 2 seconds of it before they moved the camera) also I am dissapointed everyone played as a warrior. Well I am sure those who went to PAX can confirm what it was, so we will know soon.

And I'm pretty sure one of the devs confirmed there won't be polearms. IIRC, what trailer Hawke was using is considered a mage staff.

No polearms yet we have a staff with a sword attached, and im sure it was the weapon in the demo...

Should i make morgan a blood mage or an arcane warrior ??? or just leave her specialization untill i unlock the spirit healer ???

also what is a good way to set up alistars and stems tactics so that they dont die within 40 seconds when facing a boss such as

Andraste
i activated the gong and my goon squad was alive for about 40 seconds and they did enough damadge that it wasnt even noticable and for about the next hour or two i was casting arcane bolt and lightning and the occasional earthquake and statue making thing (untilli ran out of mana potions when it dropped down to half health then i was mostly casting arcane bolt ...)

I keep comming across locked chest and cabinets and closets and stuff and it keeps telling my i have insuficent skill what do i ned to do to be able to open them ??? (do i level cunning or dexterity ???)

do i ever come across any other good aligned goon squad minions ??? so far i only have alistar ... morgan stem and

some assassin guy who fails at assassinating teh main character
are all evil aligned (i forgot to go back to the mabarrii cage so i missed out on that minion but for all o eternity i take it im to carry the flower i was ment to give to the gate keeper of the dog )

im currently in ozarma (underground city of dwarves) what dwarf side is the good side ?? I sided with harrowment just cuz i got to figth in the arena thingy instead of spreading lies as far as i could tell with the other guy ..)

This is technically my second play through my 1st got screwed up at the temple of magi .. I ran out of health potion and got stuck in the fade kept getting 3 hit killed by an ogre so i restarted and this playthrough ive done alot more but i still dont want to go back to teh templ of magi ... any tips on what type of spells i should equip my charater with i just got it to level 14 the second spell i ever gave it was heal ive recebtly been investing in frost type spells and i have about 44 health potions and 14 lesser med kits

is alistar a useful minion to have in teh party ??? i only keep him around be cause his comments make me laugh a little :/ stem because hes my tank and morgan cuz im too lazy to heal my self

I was just telling someone how http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespot/images/2010/249/988966_20100907_screen001.jpg looks like the Ashlands with MGE.

EDIT: couldn't bother to look for other screenshots earlier, but there's also http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespot/images/2010/249/988966_20100907_screen002.jpg. He's obviously holding the crown from the trailer.

I defeated that boss by using Alistair as a distraction while Wynne, Leliana, and my mage attacked from the hill at the end of the bridge. http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/High_Dragon_(Strategy) is a link to the strategy for that boss.

I keep comming across locked chest and cabinets and closets and stuff and it keeps telling my i have insuficent skill what do i ned to do to be able to open them ??? (do i level cunning or dexterity ???)

Only Rouges with lockpicking skill can unlock those chests.

Wynne and Leliana are good aligned characters. Here is how to recruit them
Spoiler
Wynne: Siding with the mages in "Broken Circle" (the mage tower)
Leliana: Entering the tavern in Lothering (the village at the beggining of the game)

im currently in ozarma (underground city of dwarves) what dwarf side is the good side ?? I sided with harrowment just cuz i got to figth in the arena thingy instead of spreading lies as far as i could tell with the other guy ..)

Neither is good, you decide who you like, Harrowmont was Endrin's choice as succesor, he wants to isolate Orzammar from the surface and preserve Dwarven traditions. Bhelen is Endrin's last living son, he wants to open up trade with the surface and abolish the caste system.

What is you full spell list? You said you focused on frost spells, do you have "Cone of Cold"? Also, what specialisation do you have?

is alistar a useful minion to have in teh party ??? i only keep him around be cause his comments make me laugh a little :/ stem because hes my tank and morgan cuz im too lazy to heal my self

Yes, his Templar abilities are very useful when fighting enemy mages.

People, I came to say: Don't waste your money on the Morrigan DLC. It's not only shorter than the Leliana one, no, but the "conclusion" to the story is very unsatisfying. Long story short: It doesn't give you any kind of information on what happens between Origins and DA2 in regards to Flemeth and Morrigan. Not even the, err, result of her plans is featured.

Luckily, it wasn't me but a friend who's now pretty angry about that, too. I only bought the Liara DLC today, which seems infinitely better, judging from reviews. Though as Lady Luck wills, I can't play it because the server space that the DLC for PC is on only contains a file that is as big as the DLC but filled with zeroes. ^_^

Beleive me the Liara dlc is great, I didnt think the minigame would be fun it was I want it back for ME3, and this is the totaly opposite of WH, as it ties up loose ends, and loose ends you wouldnte even think of at the time, it is easily one of the best dlcs so far. But yeah I should have waited, just curious would this ever be used as an import, if so I may keep it, I hate the ending, but I would rather have a rough idea of what happened to my warden.

From what I've seen in Bioware's forums, the DLC has a very nasty bug, too.

Huh, well, I just finished the DLC is one easy sitting.

Raised far more questions that it answered, and despite the obvious tie in to DA2, left me feeling very unfulfilled. Again, the locations were a complete cop-out, tying in with places from Origins/Awakening (which really makes me think Bioware has sort of fear of introduction new places in DLC). Honestly, I think it would have been better to have Morrigan turn up in DA2 along with Flemeth, rather than have this short, rather unworthwhile DLC.

That's the same screenshot that gave me that impression. I'd be awesome if they implemented a soundtracl similiar to it.

And does anyone get the feeling that ever since EA brought Bioware they've been on a downward slope?

Nope

Prefer DA:O over BG and ME2 over Kotor (and that's saying alot because BG and Kotor still rank among my most favourite games of all time).

"Runs around ins sheer panic!" NOOOOOOOO! my 360 copy of it got broken! and i accidentally deleted ALL of my data during one of random unused game data purges

I'll have to get a new copy next month "sobs" i lost my bad-ass massive armor wearing dual-sword swinging human warrior/champion/berserker! (had a lot of time placed in him)

Ah the up side, i can quickly remake him as an orlesian born instead (cheap yes, but fast)

I just want to know how good it is and will this keep me occupied until FONV?

Yes, it's good. But I don't think you can rent games from Blockbuster for 40 days.
