Is it bad that I'm almost 10 hours into the game and I haven't finished the first act yet?

No, but it's bad i've played 23 hours accross different characters and haven't completed Act I yet

Interesting that an archer Rogue is easier to play than a mage.

Darn, does anyone have this nasty bug(?) too?

Half of the stuff is locked out in the ability screen and requires Level 99. Same applies for companions. :sadvaultboy:

That's definetly not normal. Though IIRC that was how the abilities were locked in the demo?

I am really enjoying my duel wielding rogue. I don't see myself ever needing to be a ranged rogue, but I could easily play through the mage and warrior styles if i had the time. I think I might just pick this up once it gets cheap.

I'm about 6 hours in and I'm actually really enjoying it. It's different from Origins, and in some ways it's not as good, but it's still shaping up to be one of the better games I've played.

Got the issue, if you were playing the demo, there seems to be remnants of its files in the documents folder which locks up the abilities(like in the demo, now it's the full game).

Sawwry, can't help ya then.

I'm going to rent it, dont think I can bring myself to love it, seeing as they remove half of the RPG elements. Bioware is actually surprised they got a 6/10.

Spoiler
I'm on the quest where you have to find the escaped fugitive, and I'm finding it hard to choose between if I should help the elf by killing the fugitive or take him to court. It really isn't as black and white as I thought it might be.

Yeah, it's a tough one. In the end I decided to kill him. If the story spans over 10 years I'd hate to have more dead Elf children down the road.

I have a sneaking suspision that following the magistrate's orders is one of those things i'll never do. Like siding with Legion in New Vegas :D And unlike Origins, this hasn't crashed on me once.

Just kill him. the murder's father is the magistrate, and said murder is insane, not possessed by demons. Killing him is the best solution.

Has anyone downloaded and installed the texture pack yet? If so, what level are you running it on and what do you have for a GPU and CPU?

I just had a loading screen sit for about 10 minutes with no progress. Had to dashboard out. I'm installing the game on the HDD to see if it resolves some issues.

I've also noticed some minor bugs in Act 3. Templar guards with no bodies (floating heads) and missing chests from the stores but still activate-able.

Yes, there is only a check box, not level. I have a 4x2.6GHz processor (C2D Q8400) and a GTS450 (1GB) card, causes no performance issues.

I wish they'd patch the DX11 issues of nVidia cards, my inner graphics [censored] is hungry :D

I had problems like that with Origins. Had to restart the game after a while or loading screens would take more and more time, until they laster longer than actual gameplay.

Have just started playing it properly and have had a bit of a chuckle to myself regarding the Dalish's accents. Some are Welsh, some are Scottish, one was Irish and yet others have been English. How peculiar....

This, for the most part.

Except for Merril.

One thing I don't get about Merril:

Spoiler
During regular gameplay, Merril has a peachyness to her skin. But during the romance scene, she is gray. I hate inconsistency. BTW, she gets some bad ass armor if you get her to move in with you.

I enjoyed the first game enough, and managed to finish it in spite of getting burnt out by all the filler combat in the final parts of the game.

I tried the demo of the second game, and after experiencing that the combat encounters were even worse than in the first game (enemies continually attacking in waves) and the combat being a huge mess due to the much increased speed I decided to skip the game.

This annoyed me as well, it's not like they couldn't have given her an unique 'undressed' model, instead they just take the one from a random elf in the [censored] house. :c
