I forgot how long DA:O was. DA2 is feeling just about a long. I've put in almost 30 hours now and I don't even think i'm into the last third of the game.

And I'm getting pretty tired of EVERY cave/dungeon being the same map. Thats definitely the biggest room for improvement.

I hate how BW fans are defending [censored] like the "exiled prince" dlc, apparently its my fault becuase of used game sales, maybe I wouldnt buy them used if I didnt feel I was being conned.
I think BW are worse than activision, mainly because they seem to get away with less criticism than activision.

As for which class to choose, I'm having a great time with a dual-wielding rogue. I pretty much never stop doing critical hits at this point. I just absolutely tear through everything. The ability that makes you do only critical hits for 20 seconds is invaluable, and leaping over everyone to get from enemy to enemy with just your normal attack is awesome.

Heh, heh - I predict a brisk second-hand market for DA2. Buyers get to recoup losses on a game they're unhappy with, and those who aren't willing to pay full price don't have to. Win-win for everyone, while sticking it to EA!

Not just seond hand DA2 for me, but second hand ultimate edition so they dont get dlc money either.

Now if only I could forget about spoilers, I have learned enough to know I need to wait for this to drop so now I just need to forget all the things I found out (plot wise).

So... you're saying that when you press a button, something awesome happens?

Can you be a dragon? (put the answer in spoilers, please)

They may not be worse, but they're definetly as bad. Bioware however has always gotten away with it because of their image as a developer. Everyone abuses the big bad publishers for being souless montrosities that survive on human souls and overcharging their customers. Bioware is just as bad if not worse when it comes to DLC. Seriously, $5 for an hour worth of game that recycles locations and enemies is a boor business ethic. But alas, because the fans of Bioware simply love them for their storytelling of seemingly pure goodness all the blame is shifted and people are willing to overlook the worst cases of consumer exploitation.

Just got my copy. I honestly don't care about all the criticism the game is getting. I'm liking what I see from the gameplay, and I'm hoping I'll enjoy the characters just as much. I really don't see why everyone complains about BW using DLC. Just about every game company uses DLC and sells several different packs for it. What difference does it make. If you want to give the company 5 dollars because you think they deserve it, thats your choice. If not, thats your choice as well. People forget that the gaming industry is a business, and people are trying to get money out of you. In the end, thats what its all about. I'll enjoy this game for what it is, mainly because BW is great at making an amazing story and I'm a svcker for that kind of thing.

Until Bioware/EA come up with more outrageous DLC/DRM schemes in future games, citing piracy and the used market as the reason why.

Its going to take me a while to work on ignoring a lot of things about it. It bothers my sense of continuity when storylines are ignored or dismissed. Anders, in several different playthroughs for Awakening for me, either died, or stayed with the Wardens. Anders will remain with the Grey Wardens to train the Order's next generation of mages. When he is called by the Circle of Magi to deliver a lecture on the nature of the Architect - much to the templars' dismay -, he tells the Commander of the Grey that his time with the Wardens is over. However, not two months later, he returns and the Wardens remain his home and lasting companions. He went back to teach at the Circle, then returned to the Wardens. Justice either died at the siege of the Keep, or stayed with the Wardens, served the Order for many years, fighting darkspawn resistance pockets; finally appearing at Kristoff's wife Aura's doorstep one day smiling, and fall over dead. I always did the companion quests. Not to mention my Warden and Leliana were off gathering information about the darkspawn, after leading an expedition to Haven. Now I find out that none of that actually happened.

So either DA2 happens in the two months Anders was gone, or they changed the story. Justice was fighting darkspawn for many years, including, at least the way I read it, the time Anders is off lecturing about the Architect, so his interaction with Anders would have been when?. When did what happened in DA2 happen for the characters in my game?

I might have pre-ordered the game if they hadn't called it DA2. Dragon Age: Rise of the AWESOME SPARTAN General Ninja Samurai, maybe? I had fun playing Jade Empire. Jade Dragon Empire: Rise of the AWESOME Button? Both JE and DA2 seem to have jumping rolling spinning kicking leaping attacks against various undead and demons. You can even use a staff. Oh well. There are other games coming out that I am looking forward to, with the hope that, although things will be changed, the changes won't be of the "hot-rod samurai awesome button" variety.

I didn't expect a direct sequel, but I didn't expect a game that seemingly retcons half the lore of its predecessor, either. That causes serious immersion issues for me. As for the combat - I like good action RPG's, and DA2 isn't one. It's a poor attempt to meld action mechanics on an engine designed for more strategic gameplay. And don't get me started on encounter design. Almost every single battle consists of fighting waves of enemies spawning out of thin air.

I'm really enjoying the game so far doing a bunch of side quests, there seems to be allot of them which I like... I'm playing it slow and making sure I look around each area I come across. I'm playing on PC and the graphics are really nice, the characters are very well done and I do have to say out of all the games that have tried to do dwarves.. I definitely think the Dragon Age dwarves are the best. They even have an American accent which I think is very appropriate.. I dunno.. they just really seemed to make them the way I always imagined them.

Oh, just great...the DRM might not be the worst out there, but the fact that they didn't inform anyone (or even their own devs) does not bode well in the future. >_<

No wonder Steam is going to take over the world.

Been playing real-hardcoe on DA2 as a warrior, and YIKES if you mix reaver with the +200% talent from vanguard, you get scary

I prefer to trigger cleave, let it wear out, the aura of pain and blood frenzy, good times

Plus im stuck on merril's quest involving the mirrior ><

What's the problem with the Securom? I really don't understand why people are so upset over this.

Is there room in that contraption for two in there because I might need to go in.

I'm only about 20% of the way through the game, but I'm already enjoying lots of things as much as or more than DA:O.

On the other hand, there was obviously something very novel about the DA:O setting that can't be recaptured in a sequel, also the characters were a bit more memorable, and some of the locations in DA2 feel a bit unfinished (I spent quite a bit of time running through large interiors in Kirkwall looking for lore books because that's all there is to find).

I suppose I'll have to reserve judgement until I get through the entire game.
