Dragon Age: Origins & Awakening

Post » Wed Mar 17, 2010 7:00 am

Oh, that's odd, the card with the code has Expires April 30th, 2010.
Do you have a TARDIS I could borrow? :(

I am disappointed here.

And I did the boy possessed by a nearly naked demon lady first. :)
Okay...this game is weird. But at least now I know why it had the partial nudity flag. :)

The fight was somewhat easy.

Blood Dragon armor isn't the best in the game (at least not imo), it is good for low level characters but you aren't really missing out on much. Also, you aren't very far in the game, you've only done 1 out of the 4 treaty quests, and there are quite a few things to do after the treaty quests in the MQ alone :)

Oh, okay. Thank you. I'll go play it again, later. I've been distracted by Diablo II. :)
And Fallout 3...

I'm a little surprised that the armor expired for him, though. I reinstalled DA yesterday after a six-month absence but was able to download Shale, the Blood Dragon armor, and the Memory ring again, for no charge apparently. The three items were included in the boxed set I bought when DA first arrived.

You already registered the game and downloaded them before the deadline though, yes? In which case, it works akin to Steam, you "own" all the DLC you've purchased (or got for free), and are free to re-download it as often as you want. Don't register and download the stuff on time...and you'll have to cough up the dough.

I just bought the game last week. :)
I'd need a TARDIS to go back and use the code for the Armor and the others.
What's Shale? And A memory ring?

Shale is another character (a stone golem) you can recruit into your party who's only available as a separate download. The DLC costs $15, but if you got the game new, and (as I said previously) registered it, you can download it for free. But, like Blood Dragon Armor, it had an expiration date which you most certainly have exceeded now.

And the Memory RIng is...dunno, probably just some store-specific pre-order bonus.

Oh, speaking of golems, I found the golem control rod, was that for Slade? Because I cannot find a golem anywhere in that city.
Or anything that looks like a golem.

Yes, it is for Shale. Did you download the Stone Prisoner DLC? If so, a place called Honnleath should have appeared on your map (somewhere south of Redcliffe) after getting the control rod, where you can do the quest. Otherwise, nothing will come of it until it's downloaded.

Ah. Okay. No, I don't have any of the DLCs.
But thanks for explaining to me what it does.

Thanks, Xetirox. That's what happened. I think the ring came with ordering it from Amazon; it's nothing spectacular.

no i did it like 6 or 7 days before the deadline, i just posted it here now because i had just thought about it reading about the stone prisoner DLC.

EDIT: it took the codes and said that it was successful but i never got a download of it, and when i went to the Playstation store to try and download it, it wasnt on my list of things ive bought.

Wow, quarter 1 2011. Considering that they've been working on Mass Effect and The Old Republic I have a hard time believing that is enough time to develope DA2.

So, this has probably been asked a lot.

But, is Awakening worth it?

No, not really. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun romp, overall, but considering its length, (lack of) difficulty, and bugginess, it's really not worth 40 bucks. I'd wait for a price drop.

That's right. The fricken cover of GI was supposed to be ESV.

Sorry if this post was regarded as spam Hungry Donner.

Guess I'll wait then.

On a normal day, I'd be stoked for Dragon Age 2. But when there was so much pointing towards a TESV announcement, I'm saddened.

Don't start man. Lets keep that disaster in the contamination zone.

Apparently, as I read, the main focus of the next Dragon Age game is to make it look shinier and nicer for both the console and the PC. What engine did they use on DA: Origins?

Obviously not the Unreal engine like they did with Mass Effect.

I don't know whether to be stoked that another one's coming out so soon, or very, very worried.

Personally i'm more worried that another Fable game is coming out by the end of this year. Mind you its been 2 years since Fable 2...and it hasn't even been a year since Dragon Age was released..

EDIT: It took them 3 years to release Mass Effect 2 since ME 1...

Wait, does this mean the GI cover is DA2, or am I missing something, because you guys sound kind of pissed off.
