Someone asked me to start a new thread for this yesterday, and I didn't notice the request until today.

So after renting it I went ahead and picked it up used (Gamestop was having a deal on used games) Im kinda sad I don't get my Golum but I figure I already have enough companions as it is, let alone warrior companions.

If you want it that bad you can DL the stone prisoner from XBL, shale is Ok, not very fussy on shale, already have a warrior and I disliked shales dialouge.
I wish I had BD armour though, would look good on my warrior. I may start a new game soon I havent played DA in some time, shame one of the issues I have is this is like a book, if I start playing then stop halfway through I must restart from the begining to get the atmosphere. Anyone else like this ?

I'd recommend just using your old save, if you're pretty far in. If you do restart, play on the easiest setting and just blaze through the filler combat so you can get to the better stuff.

I thhought I would learn by now to keep old saves, *sigh* now for a nasty cycle of making a face seeing a fault, then destroying the character, and repeating untill I give up, then out of frustration stop playing, then the cycle starts again.Still trying to re create the one face. I keep it on casual anyway, I svck at anythignelse, especially the broodmother, dear god that was a nightmare, entire mission was, far to long, then ending with that.

Thats how I am, it could be something simple like the hair cut (most of the time) or things like skin tone and the tattoo don't look right. The character creation screen doesn't do your character justice in the game. I think it looks quite different.

That's true, but on my most recent mage, I will say that she came out looking better ingame than I felt she looked in the character creator.

Agreed, I once designed a character who looked identical, then when playing I just stopped, stared at his face and said "I [censored] up the cheecks" then scrapped him. Then just got other faults usually with the nose. Still DA hasoneof if not the best CC I have seen/used. Just wish it was like ME2 and gave me a code to write down if I like the face. Also annoyed me was on my female elf I couldnt get her chin right, wanted it flat, but never got an option to get it flat enough.

Oh thank god.

Anyway, I usually just use the best looking premade model and edit it to my liking. I'm not artistic/patient enough to make a good looking face, but I've seen other people who have made some really god ones. Isn't there a mod that gives you better faces yet? :P

Speaking of mods, one I want for the 360 is the teeth whitening one, seriously, everyone has abs, no under arm hair, makeup and yet they all have rotten teeth... It annoyed me, lucky PC users. Ever since I cant help but stare at peoples teeth. "Stop stareing at my briasts teeth, tis most disturbing."

I don't get why all face creators are darker than average in game light levels. It [censored] pisses me off, and makes it harder to design faces. GRAGH. /rant

This stuck out for me in the latest info on the forthcoming patch

(Awakening only) Players may now receive notes of appreciation from former love interests.

Now that for me is a game-breaker, or rather fixer. Letters from Leliana and Zev were written in the code, but failed to materialise in game, glad to see someone sorted it out. Now it feels like a continuation of the story to me. I doubt Morrigan will send you messages from the Wilds, (I imagine something like Kurtz from Apocalypse Now) and Al is not the kind of guy who writes letters. But still we can hope. He promised me a kingdom he did. :)

Okay, so I was wondering if I should buy Awakening. I played the game and beat it many months ago and loved it. Is $40 worth it?

Wait for the forthcoming (My guess within a month) patch and in the meantime there may be a price cut.

I have heard (2nd hand) that Awkening is quite good. Less filler combat and all that jazz. That said, $40 is $40.

Sounds like very good advice. I guess I'll keep myself busy (I just bought Star Ocean and Final Fantasy XIII is on the way).

It's so frustrating when you create a seemingly good looking character but then you see them in the light and it's like "gah"

I had the same problem with Oblivion and Fallout 3 though surprisingly not with Mass Effect (though I don't remember so I may be wrong)

Mass Effect's has its own problems, namely the fact that you can't rotate Shepard, you can only tilt her head at certain angles. Made worse in the fact that both ME1 and ME2 force you to sit through a bunch of crap (all the loading screens in the first and the destruction of the Normandy in the second) before getting to the CC. Grrrrrr...

But you can get a nice premade character in Mass Effect 2 just by typing in the code (plus, I think the voices match the default best).

I'm reinstalling this and yes I'm dreading the character creation. For the love of all gamers everywhere, give us some nice options in the CC screen. The ability to fully control the camera, cycle through different lightings, even test our character out in a small environment.

The biggest problem I have with MEs CC is you can never make a good black character, The skin was bad and the voice was so off it was just sad....
