Dragon Age II

Hi all!

I played Dragon Age Origins and the expansion, really enjoyed the story and characters. Over all I thought it was a nice put together game. Just not much replay value as it's soooo linear.

I'm just curious as to who else is going to get Dragon Age II when it's released. It's looks pretty interesting after watching the trailers.

I think there's a long running Dragon Age topic some where, but yup, I am getting it.

I just replayed the original on a nightmare play through, which was easier than I thought because usually i don't do "nightmare" settings. Just starting on the awakening DLC but don't really like any of the characters yet and I'm just tearing through darkspawn.

I'm quite curious to see the direction they've taken the sequel. I remember hearing an interview and one of the developers saying "We could have done the easy thing and been predictable but we decided to change it up." or something to that effect.

The art direction looks quite different and I have yet to see game play. I hope they've stayed true to the real time strategy aspects of combat and not turn it into an ARPG. Hopefully it will keep me busy till project dark and skyrim.

I really, really enjoyed Origins. And I thought Awakening was pretty good. But I'm not getting DA2. Too many changes that I consider bad. I'm not afraid of change, but I don't like what they are doing with it. And, although they were saying something along the lines of it looking "hot," the graphics are horrible. The game may be good, but I'm not going to waste my money on it.

Well don't hold out, what's the word on the street? Is it going ARPG style?
