If it's not your taste then wear other armor. Simple.

But the whole point is that this armor is made from dragons and hence should look cool not like muck. I already worked out I could wear other armor hence I wear Ebony.

Or robes. I like robes. Which is what i do. Still there's validity is complaining about ugly dragon armor as it is a dragon centric game and it can be considered the best heavy armor in terms of defense.

Haha, EXACTLY!

Seriously though, I like to feel like I look cool. I mean thats the whole point of designing your character right? You want to look a certain way.

When I wear Dragon armor I feel and look like a huge, armor plated, walking talking killing machine bird poo.

Surely it can't be much worse than being a bloated, hobbit crushing, eight legged sack of crap?

This doesn't really effect me as I've stopped wearing helmets as my character's head looks too cool - long haired Nord with face paint and light scaring

You won't be saying that when I stick you with my stinger. You better pray you are wearing a Mithril vest when that day rolls round young fellow me lad!

I took the Dragon Armor Perk and made some Dragon Armor. I reloaded the save and put the Perk into something else. The stats were not much of a boost over my Glass Armor. As someone already posted, I choose the armor that looks the coolest. Not out of any misguided form over function aspect, but because any armor gives me enough protection, so why not pick what looks the best for my character.

Lydia looks good in her Ebony, I look good in my Glass.

This is the exact point of my post.

What makes Skyrim different from other TES scrolls games? Mainly Dragons and Dragon Armor. Ok so Dragons = cool but Dragon Armor = not so cool.

My point being they should have made the dragon armor THE coolest thing in the game. You have to get 100 smithing to get it and when you do you look the absolute dogs nuts!

Alas... I look like I'm made from paper mache!

Dragonscale armor looks quite alright to me. Not really interested in the heavy armors...

Dragonscale Armor (Light variant) looks decent. Dragonplate looks bad, so I agree. Daedric is beast, go for that. :)

When you get past a certain point (around Glass/Ebony level) any extra armor isn't exactly worth a whole lot

Bandit1: "OMG! Whats that coming up the road there?"

Bandit2: "I'm not sure..." **squints** "It looks like...erm..."

Bandit1 and Bandit2 together: "A giant bird dropping!"

Bandit3: "That ain't no bird dropping! That's a Dragon Born warrior with 100 smithing! ATTACK!!!"

Bandit1 and Bandit2 together: "ATTAACCKKKKK!!!"

Gotta disagree. Daedric is the best looking (and simply best) heavy armour, but Ebony is also pretty cool. The helmet is ugly as sin though. Since my main character is a light-armour fanatic, Dragonscale is the best for him AND it doesn't look like crap. :)

Leather looks the best I reckon. Although I haven't got Nightingale yet. I saw pics of the dragon armour and I agree that they both look OTT and ugly.

My battle mage loves the look of the Dragonscale, although he may switch to glass after seeing how good his follower looks in it. Not a big fan the Dragonplate. For pure intimidation, he gets Benor to follow for a bit while wearing a full set of Daedric armor, with warhammer in tow.

My Dark Elf thief/assassin is quite comfortable in his Dark Brotherhood outfit.
